Dubs win Coin Toss!!!

Golden State won the coin toss! Just gotta survive the lottery!!!

John Hollinger (3:12 PM)

Our Beckley Mason is saying that Golden State won the coin flip. But by "won" I'm not sure if he means "won" or "lost"

John Hollinger (3:13 PM)

OK, it appears he means "won" ... Golden State is in No. 7 position, so if nobody leapfrogs them in the lottery the Warriors will keep the pick and Utah will have a top-7 protected pick from Golden State in 2013.

A Game for the History Books- Warriors vs. Spurs

Did anyone else think that last Warrior game was nothing short of amazing? I don't think it's even possible to properly describe my emotions going into this.

First of all, the Warriors totally threw the game. Blatantly. They didn't want to win at the end, almost as much as the Spurs didn't. It was as close to a garbage all-star game as you'll ever get. They flat out refused to rebound on four straight possessions, and walked the ball up on the next possession. Yeah, it was a TANK.

Second of all, this came directly after how Mark Jackson adamantly declared that he would try to win this game. Yeah, like how you wanted to go to the playoffs this year? LOL

Thirdly, did anyone see how ridiculously athletic the Warriors were? It was like the whole game was just a dunk contest, with a ridiculous amount of lobs and charges at the basket. There were also a few streetball like jumpers from Mickell Gladness, but other than that, the amount of threes was ridiculously low for a Dubs game.

Fourthly, the Spurs couldn't even be bothered to send their coach, Gregg Popovich, to see this game. Some assistant was an "acting" head coach.

Fifthly, Mikki Moore. He played the laziest game of basketball I'd ever seen this side of Patrick O'Bryant. His picks weren't even picks, he'd just slide in front of an immediately out from under his defender. His effort on offense consisted of pretending that he could shoot. On one offensive possession, I saw him stand out on the three point line for a shot, stand uselessly under the basket smothered by two Spurs defenders, and spend the remainder of the possession out of bounds. At one point, he busted his *** at mid-court. I couldn't stop laughing.

Sixthly, selfishness. Once these guys were double or triple teamed near the basket, they'd never, ever give it up. I saw some amazing hooks from Jeremy Tyler, but I saw so many more blocked shots in the paint.

Honestly, I think these dudes were trippin'. Just look at the photos....

"Eh, I'll give this ball away for the heck of it."

Look up Assistant Coach in the dictionary, this picture comes up.

20120426_pjc_se9_325_extra_large_medium

"LOL, guess I forgot the ball back there"

20120426_pjc_se9_326_extra_large_medium

"Is the game over yet?" "Look! I found something on my shoe!"

20120426_pjc_se9_210_extra_large_medium

"Ope, guess I forgot to defend."

20120426_pjc_se9_213_extra_large_medium

"I'm just kinda jumping around for the heck of it."

20120426_pjc_se9_399_extra_large_medium

Bonner: "Yeah, I really care about blocking this dunk. I really do."

Alright, I'll stop make you suffering while looking at my bad captions. The Warriors suck, and this was just another legendary season in the circus of legendary seasons. Lose a longtime Warrior? Check. Trade him for a injured player? Check. Have two white guys in the starting lineup next season? Check. Get a crazy coach? Check. Most importantly, finish low but not low enough to net a significantly good franchise-changing player? Check. Ah hell, next season will be awesome. We'll win the ship. Just you wait.

Just for fun . . .

Let's say the Warriors manage to keep this protected draft pick we're fighting for. What would you have them do with it? I'm interested to hear what y'all have in mind. JUST FOR FUN.

Comparing this team to the We Believe Warriors

Tonight was an epic night in tanking - the Warriors somehow lost despite holding a seven point lead. This led me to think of one thing - the We Believe Warriors, who went 16-5 at the end of the season to make the playoffs. This team has gone 5-17 to make the draft lottery. See a similarity? Come with me while I make irrational comparisons between this team and the 2007 Warriors!

A copy of my e-mail to Lacob after the win....

Dear Mr. Lacob and co.

I know intentional losing is not something you want embedded in this team's/organization's DNA, but as our owner I would expect you to do what is necessary to secure and obtain all the things that would contribute to a bright future for Golden State. I really hope that extra win was worth losing a very important asset. Not just a potential contributor to a successful team or that missing piece at small forward, but also a possible trade chip to get a difference maker. This has been the most stressful and the least fun season I've followed in an incredibly long time. We try and root for a winning team and suffer. We try and root for a successful tank, and suffer. (I've never rooted against my team so vehemently before, and cheered opposing three pointers so strongly...and frankly is feels dirty.)

Warriors fans are used to suffering, but there is a difference between losing positioning in the draft with wins (which the Warriors do EVERY year) and having wins cause us to lose a high draft pick COMPLETELY. I honestly can't tell you how you are/were supposed to go about keeping our draft pick...but as an owner who is very aware of the passion/needs/wants of his fanbase, and as the leader of a NO EXCUSE basketball team, I expect results from you. Draft picks, Trades, Contracts, Cap Room - all things off court...all things that are supposed to be your arena. Sure you can say we will be just fine with Bogut, Curry, Klay and Lee - but I'm tired of doing just fine. After all these years as a Warrior fan, I feel I have the right to be a little greedy. Thank you for your passion, your effort, and your time....now show me more.

Please send Larry Riley, David Khan and The Utah Jazz my regards.

Sincerely,

Jason

It's a petty world after all.

**Disclaimer for future, if any, readers. Sarcasm (most blatantly in the fourth paragraph) throughout this short post. You've been warned, so try not to take it THAT seriously. Please?

The Warriors having just won their game tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves have left little hope for retaining their lottery pick in the upcoming draft... it's official, it's the end of the world! We should all feel free to continue to post comment after negative, angry comment about how stupid the Warriors' organization is, and about how much everything sucks.

I will join in as well. I will put little thought into anything else happening in the world, including the dangerous religious persecution (violence/death) people are facing on the other side of this very world we live on, or the continued bribery on Wall Street that I all just heard about on the news. So longs as the Warriors continue "f*cking up", I will focus all of my attention and anger on them, because after all, nothing else matters.

I find it amazing how people get so upset over sports, and other trivial matters in this country, and seem to care so little about issues that will affect us, or in other words, our country in the near future (and to foreign guests, well I'm sure you aren't as petty as we Americans tend to be).

I'm sure all of you angry people will forget about all of this nonsense in just a year's time if the Warriors do in fact put it all together next season and make some progress (playoffs), and you won't even consider how much time, and energy you've wasted. Next season I guess won't be any different from years past assuming we have a healthy roster come this October. I mean, I'm sure we will still get outrebounded, and give up points by the bunches in the paint. Disregard Steph (who's put up some interesting statistics in his first few seasons), Klay (who wants to talk about this bum?), Dorell (who set the record for 3 pointers made in his first season... more than Chris Mullin and this is the end of year 2), David Lee (wasted money), and Bogut (who hasn't even suited up for us, and who most GS fans probably haven't even watched play), and all the other talent behind our assumed starters for the 2012-2013 season for that matter.

I realize this is a basketball blog, but come on, there are more important things for us to worry about. I know you all have jobs, and work really hard, but why waste so much of yourselves over some sports team that can never do anything "right"? Why get so angry, and argue?

I sympathize with Charles Barkley; I don't wish fans were dead, but I wish they did something productive instead of going on the internet everyday and just venting and perpetuating unhealthy emotions and behaviors. I'm a hypocrite. Thanks for reading.

Tank tie?

We all have seen the bazillion updates on our tanking. As the season inches closer to its "exciting" conclusion it's appearing more and more likely that the Warriors could be involved in a tie. Currently they're in a tie (in Wins) for 6th place with the Raptors and Nets, and very close to the Kings, Pistons, and Cavs.

We know that teams can only jump to picks 1, 2, or 3, otherwise they return to their positions based on order of finish and tiebreakers. Also we know that every team will finish with the same amount of games, so the difference in win percentage due to differing amounts of games will not be present.

My question to everyone is if the Warriors were to tie for 6th, as they would if the season ended today based on wins, what would happen to determine if the Warriors gain the 6th, 7th, or 8th starting position?
