Mark Jackson
On Tonight's Game:
"You can't expect that night in and night out. We really, in the second half, separated ourselves offensively. We executed, we took care of the basketball, we limited their second chance opportunities, and we defended. A thing of beauty - unselfish basketball. You look at David (Lee) struggling early on shooting the basketball, but continued to battle. Couldn't be more satisfied with the effort collectively."
On Stephen Curry & Monta Ellis:
"They are dynamic backcourt that can score and at their best I would put them up against anyone in the game. We know what they are capable of doing and the challenge to them is to not tease us. They are not going to have numbers like this every night, but they battled defensively, took care of the basketball and got quality looks in our sets. And another thing, they were involved defensively going to rebound the basketball. We have to do that collectively and they did a great job of getting in the mix."
On Andris Biedrins:
"Eight (rebounds) in the first quarter was great and he was guarding against a legitimate homerun hitter in Al Jefferson who can flat out score on the block. We told him he's yours just like we told him last time we faced him with Kwame (Brown) and Dre (Andris Biedrins) -we trust those guys to defend them one-on-one. We'll live with him making tough shots and then we'll make the adjustments accordingly. Dre (Andris Biedrins) did a great job of battling, keeping them in front, wasn't worried about fouling, was active diving to the hoop offensively and pursued the basketball in the first quarter, He really gave us great minutes."
Stephen Curry
On Tonight's Game:
"A good team with a good starting unit has that mentality every night, especially on their home court when they need to win. The last two nights we needed wins but we got them different ways. Tonight the starters did a great job coming out with an aggressive outlook. When the momentum swung our way we took control of the game and finished it out."
On The Third Quarter:
"We had some rhythm. We found some sets that we could really exploit, getting the ball into certain guys hands and D Lee (David Lee) running the pick and rolls. We got some stops and got out into transition where we used our speed. That's where we're at our best. A combination on both ends made us really play well."
Monta Ellis
On The Whole Team Being Active On Both Ends Of The Court:
"We did that for the whole 48 minutes. The biggest thing was defending and getting out and run. I think we did a nice job of boxing out, getting rebounds, getting out and run and into transition. We were playing Warrior's basketball. Steph (Stephen Curry) did a great job of getting everyone involved, finding the open guy and knocking down open shots."
Andris Biedrins
On Starters Playing Well:
"I think everybody knew what they had to do. We just had to come out with a lot of energy because we knew that they played last night and they would be tired. That's what we did."
(after the game)
MSteinmetzCSN: Shoutout to GSOM for giving @gswscribe, @rusty_sfchron & myself nice T-shirts. As usual, @warriorsworld no factor when it comes to giving.
warriorsworld: @MSteinmetzCSN your far too easily impressed
MSteinmetzCSN: @warriorsworld You obviously didn't see the shirt. It's nice
EkpeUdoh: Great win tonight!!! Thanks for the crazy support. Oh n have a nice evening!!!
- No interesting notes to add tonight.
- The Warriors take their 2 game win streak into the bus and up the freeway to Sacramento to try to turn it into a 3 game win streak.

You win 1998.
warriorsablaze - February 2, 2012
annoying
doubleteapot - February 2, 2012
Almost as annoying as the logo for this site
What 10 year old came up with that piece of creative genius?
Buster Bluth - February 3, 2012
I thought Canadians were supposed to be nice
Duby Dub Dubs - February 3, 2012
You’re joking right? There’s nothing wrong with the logo at all. It’s a lot better than the old one, that’s for sure.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
Well it's obviously the same 10 year that did this one
With a name like golden state of mind you would think it might be something a little outside the box instead of something someone threw up on piece of paper and call it art or creative.
My favorite part of it is the basketball pointing to where the team plays and the ball is also supposed to be the “o” in golden…that’s some clever thinking right there. It’s a geography lesson and logo in one…real smart.
Buster Bluth - February 3, 2012
I thought the O in Golden State represented the hoop. The picture is memorable and conveys the right message, i.e. that we’re talking about basketball, that we’re talking about basketball in Oakland and in California. I think it’s attractive, personally.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
Haha. Well, I don’t remember anyone calling the current one “art” or even “creative.” Not sure how long you’ve been frequenting this site, but there was a lot of discussion here about the new logo, including a number of ideas that were significantly farther outside the box. In the end, we thought about our “brand equity” and opted for a solution that was less a bit less esoteric and more like a bold, fresh update on what we had.
But hey, de gustibus non est disputandum. If you don’t like it, you should make up your own and post a diary about it. If you sway the right people, who knows, it could end up in lights!
Sleepy Freud - February 3, 2012

Congrats
Pippen - February 2, 2012
not to annoy any1.
I just get excited when we win. It makes my day better. happy it made people laugh.
DaveinSJ - February 2, 2012
Yeah, but please don't do it anymore
it does look silly and annoying. And I don’t want to start a trend where all anyone does is try to go “first” on a post.
IQofaWarrior - February 2, 2012
I second that
Pippen - February 2, 2012
LOL... clever ..
PIRATEWARRIOR - February 2, 2012

maryjane - February 3, 2012
Nice, always happy when Warriors win.
It was nice to see them run more today. I think that is your game. with solid defense. Bierdnis set the tempo today, nice to see him play more today.
DaveinSJ - February 2, 2012
Congrats on the win, guys!
yoshifan - February 2, 2012
ya, but we were trying to lose...
PIRATEWARRIOR - February 2, 2012
Who is we?
J-RIDAH - February 2, 2012
Speak for yourself
The majority of the fans on here were rooting for the Jazz to win so the Warriors wouldn’t have to give the Jazz this pick this year.
Pippen - February 2, 2012
Pretty sure the MAJORITY of fans...
…on here were not rooting for the Jazz. We’d have to tank like 3+ years to not give the Jazz a good pick… may as well get it over with.
warriorsablaze - February 2, 2012
I think they are too good to tank and enjoys seeing them win. However, there a a lot of people on here rooting for them to tank. Maybe not a majority, but close to it. This draft is fairly loaded with talent, so this is probably one of the worst years to lose the pick. It sucks we are probably going to lose it, but that is the likely reality.
Pippen - February 2, 2012
Pip, this draft is not loaded with talent. Its the biggest lie in basketball.
J-RIDAH - February 2, 2012
It might be a little hyped, but I think at the very least the top 2 or 3 players will be very nice NBA players. I think the true stars usually shine in the NCAA Tournament, so I’m gonna withhold my judgment until then. The Tournament is when I realized for certain Derrick Rose was going to be a complete stud in the NBA.
Pippen - February 2, 2012
There are a couple of guys that I think might be a little overrated though. I’m not totally sold on Sullinger and I’m a little guy shy towards skinny NC forwards.
Pippen - February 2, 2012
*gun shy
Pippen - February 3, 2012
thats strictly at GSOM though
j-spliff415 - February 3, 2012
Banish the tankers...
… going for the 8th seed, baby!
warriorsablaze - February 2, 2012
Good luck against the Jazz on the road, BTW.
yoshifan - February 2, 2012
And a first round pick
plus we lose a pick and Curry will become a RFA meaning we will have to pay him big bucks
doubleteapot - February 2, 2012
We're not going to tank...
… Accept it and get on with your life instead of posting about tanking 35 times a day.
warriorsablaze - February 2, 2012
So I should accept mediocrity?
doubleteapot - February 2, 2012
No.... just reality.
I want to date supermodels.
warriorsablaze - February 2, 2012
No, but you might as well brace yourself for the Warriors not finishing with a bottom 7 record. They aren’t that bad. You shouldn’t waste the entire season rooting for them to lose, when it’s not gonna do any good, except make you more frustrated. Try and enjoy the wins and keep your fingers crossed during the lottery.
Pippen - February 2, 2012
uh...no
Brownie13 - February 3, 2012
bench really brought us back in the game and wow do they play with chemistry.
bimmercirem3 - February 2, 2012
Judging from the stats, it looks like the starters carried them through this one.
Pippen - February 2, 2012
judging by the game...the chemistry and the passion carried through them to the half.
but yes, the starters finished and ran with it.
bimmercirem3 - February 2, 2012
Monta was on fire
nobody could stop him
doubleteapot - February 2, 2012
success formula
have every opponent play without their top two guards and best perimeter defender. R.Bell didn’t fare so badly vs. Ellis in their last match up.
the.monk - February 2, 2012
Well he did make 16 FTs in that game…and had Raja in foul trouble all night. Just didn’t make it happen at the end.
He’s put up pretty good numbers both times we’ve played them.
Brownie13 - February 3, 2012
Monta-Curry were on fire and clicking; that's what I want to see.

How come Beans isnt the popular vote
9 REBOUNDS BLOCKED SHOTS GOOD D by Beans and he goes unnoticed? His best game of the season by far.
richstyle - February 2, 2012
When yo set the bar so low, it is pretty easy to jump over it. 9 rebounds doesn’t deserved to be in all caps. Curry got my vote.
Pippen - February 2, 2012
He had 8 of them in the 1st quarter
he really wasn’t a big reason we won.
Brownie13 - February 3, 2012
Udoh was the man
Him roofing guys is starting to become a standard. I didn’t know this, but he can actually jump for a rebound. Who Knew?
Voted player of the game.
Critical Roach - February 3, 2012
both Udoh and Biedrens deserve some props
as does the coaching staff. Our guys, especially the marginal players, really seemed to come out with a renewed intensity

I think gumby gave up on the Warriors. after the last game
IQofaWarrior - February 3, 2012
A must win game that we should've won, and did. Still the most impressive second half of the season.
I’m just glad Mark Jackson finally realized that this team is at it’s best when its pushing the pace, creating TO’s and getting into the open court.
Too bad it took Kwame getting injured for him to realize it.
We should be averaging upwards of 102 ppg, let’s see it happen!

IQofaWarrior - February 3, 2012
I was at the game, showing up at the last minute to buy tickets. Not an impressive victory since the Jazz were missing three guards, including their starting PG! Still, great game. What numbers by Steph Curry and Udoh looked awesome on defense. Ellis seems to play well against the Jazz, it seems. He scored like mad. I was especially impressed with Lee as well; he was seriously solid and played well all around.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
well done Curry
His best game this season
maryjane - February 3, 2012
Best game for the Monta-Curry backcourt! Amen!
dinohealth - February 3, 2012
only 10% vote for team win
can someone clue me in on this one
TooShort2Play - February 3, 2012
Well...
I voted for 2nd half surge of energy, which is essentially the same thing.
Brownie13 - February 3, 2012
I agree. Definitely a team win. Everyone played the way we expect them to, and they are capable of.
dinohealth - February 3, 2012
Next game is a MUST WIN!
At Sacramento with Thornton coming back. We need our backcourt to dominate again.. When Ellis AND Curry play well we seem to win lehhgo
Potential - February 3, 2012
Ant body else notice around 19 sec of gumbys highlights beans defults to curry for the rebound. I know theirs always a risk of curry getting injured but i want to see my starting centers attitude to be get the ball at all cost. He should even of thought twice who was in front of him
npandres - February 3, 2012
THIS is what we've been waiting for! Curry/Ellis 50 points and 12-15 assists every night! Lee doing his 20/10 inside. Wright getting his15 soms RBs. Udoh/Biedrins getting some rebounds and a dozen points!
Udoh/Biedrins still not there inside, especially in point contribution, but better than before; also, 4 blocks total. The bench we know about. Curry/Ellis clicking is the key. Agree, could be best backcourt in the NBA , as Major Jackson says, when playing the way we expect them to. That whole at center is what may keep us out of the playoffs, two years in a row…
dinohealth - February 3, 2012
"hole" at center...and, Wright getting 15 and "some" rebounds...typos...only when I get excited!
dinohealth - February 3, 2012
Udoh hit three jumpers, by my count. Hope he can keep that up!
Naticus - February 3, 2012
udoh had more hustle back and forth than anyone else
and he had some dwight-like d going against milsap
j-spliff415 - February 3, 2012
def earned my vote
j-spliff415 - February 3, 2012
His +/- was certainly indicative of a guy who was huge. Last year, he had good +/-, too. Notice Jefferson’s finesse offense was completely shut down by him in the 4th?
Naticus - February 3, 2012
we could have a little run in the making here
i dont see why we would lose to the kings, and the nuggets, rockets, and suns are no better than either the blazers or the jazz
good be a good week and a half to be a warriors fan
j-spliff415 - February 3, 2012
agree...IF, we keep playing the way we can....
dinohealth - February 3, 2012
I always think that we could go on a run…then remember it’s the Warriors were talking about here. No game or lead is ever safe =[
Nice to see them win back to back at home on games they should win though. Hope they can build up some momentum here.
bObaBaLLa - February 3, 2012
don't we have the Kings next?
they got Thornton back now…gonna be a tough one
Duby Dub Dubs - February 3, 2012
Tyler, btw
looked hideous
j-spliff415 - February 3, 2012
yep, but he has to keep getting wet a few minutes each game...will do the team good in the long run..
dinohealth - February 3, 2012
Or it’ll hurt his confidence, and he’ll end up as a headcase. ha ha
Naticus - February 3, 2012
im just confused as too how a player who makes it to the nba has no hands or post moves
j-spliff415 - February 4, 2012
These type of games are dangerous
I fell back in love with EVERYONE except biedrins of course. What a worthless individual. I have to say these days, i can’t stand anyone who tried to justify Biedrins over any player on this team, especially monta, but I digress. If we did have a productive NBA starting center, we’d probably be vying for the 8 seed (woopedy doo!)
that said-
-Loved Monta. Scored in rythym.
-Loved Steph. Great motor, GREAT job pushing tempo and finding teammates and balancing scoring and passing. Hardest thing for a young PG is that and tonight, like Chicago game he did it. It’s a reason I Wanted us to pursue Chauncey, someone Steph looked up to and said taught him so much about balancing scoring and getting teammates involved.
-BIG up to David Lee. I geniunely liked him today. If he does this, I will lay a little lower on my hate. 2-12 first half, 6 points, horrnedous. Bounces back with a 7-11 second, 17 points, 9 rebounds
Dorell’s slowing coming around. Still not shooting like last year, but not quite this early year. However his all around game is getting better
And I can’t forget UDoh. FINALLY nailing the midranger I see him make pre-game every game. This could be HUGE for opening up his offense. He’s not going to explode like Blake to the rim, so that little 15-18 footer could be just whats needed to give him a step to get to rim.
At this point, I honestly want to see Ekpe getting near 30 minutes (off bench or not, i’d still suggest he’s off the bench.
As a team, one thing I liked, we aggressively went at the basket. Drew some fouls. Steph with 8 attempts, he actually missed one :o. David LEe, his post move on Paul Millsap in the 3rd! I want to see him do that v. smaller or less athletic guys. He’s got ability to do it. Monta, attacking the rim.
—
Like I said, dangerous game which makes me fall back in love
tafkasam - February 3, 2012
I've been on Bidedrins' case all season, however, if he gets 8-9 rebounds and six points in his 30 minutes,
and Udoh plays some Defense, gets some rebounds, and scores another six points, WELL, all that takes some of the heat of David Lee and opens things up for Wright and the backcourt, and we are in business!
dinohealth - February 3, 2012
I want to see Lee go at JT and DEMarcus like he did in 2nd half
I liked him in attack mode.
tafkasam - February 3, 2012
agree. When he has help inside, and the guards are moving the ball and making shots, Lee becomes that much more effective, as everyone else does!
dinohealth - February 3, 2012
What a worthless individual
WTF?
Is he a rapist or something?
You better have some dirt on a guy to be trashing his character like that otherwise you are just talking out your ass.
cybermaldonado - February 3, 2012
Sorry
Worthless player*.
tafkasam - February 3, 2012
People that hate Biedrins don’t understand that defense is half the game. Biedrins played fine.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
His D is nothing special
We had better D when Udoh was in.
tafkasam - February 3, 2012
Biedrins is a much better rebounder than Udoh. They each have their strengths. Against a finesse offense center, I’ll take Udoh any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Against some of the bigger centers in the league, I’d have to take Biedrins. Besides, just because Udoh was playing better doesn’t mean Biedrins has no value. Biedrins plays better and contributes more some nights.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
Agreed
I love how you put you fell back in love. That is exactly how I felt, with the exception of Biedrins, although I thought he put forth effort. My mom, who knows next to nothing about basketball, commented, “that guy should be doing more of that stuff, don’t you think?”.
picknpop - February 3, 2012
Main reason why Monta was so good
He attacked the rim aggressively , ya Hayward was on him but he could of easily settled fro jumpers like he has been but he didn’t
dubzfan - February 3, 2012
Wow. The W's beat a five-point spread, too.
callahan - February 3, 2012
Utah has to trade some of their front court. Unprotect the pick for Favors or Kanter.
callahan - February 3, 2012
or Milsap
yeah, I’d do that for sure….the Jazz, not so much
Duby Dub Dubs - February 3, 2012
We got a better Milsap in David Lee. I'll probably get ripped for saying that :).
callahan - February 3, 2012
millsap is a beast
bigkino217 - February 3, 2012
David Lee is the real beast.
Lee: 18.8 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 2.2 ast, 1.0 stl
Millsap: 16.9 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 1.8 ast, 1.6 stl
callahan - February 3, 2012
Wow.
GovernorStephCurry - February 3, 2012
hahaha, yeah, I'm just gonna let this one pass on by
Callahan, you have been spared a well-deserved ripping. Just do me a favor and go look at D, and then salaries..after that, we can talk about using per-minute stats
Duby Dub Dubs - February 3, 2012
LOL. I wouldn't trade for Millsap.
callahan - February 3, 2012
LOL indeed
you know Milsap makes about $7.6 million this year right?
that’s like…Kwame money
Duby Dub Dubs - February 3, 2012
Milsap is a rich man’s poor man.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
Millsap signed his contract while he was still backing up Boozer and at the time I thought another team would have given him significantly more so the Jazz got extra value thusly.
polar - February 3, 2012 via mobile
Lee might be better than Millsap
but we’re talking inches. Not 48 milion better.
Millsap, Scola, Lee… same caliber PF.
2 of them are paid 8 mil annually. One is paid the same as LMA and more than Josh Smith :SMH:
tafkasam - February 3, 2012
Millsaps having a much better year.
GovernorStephCurry - February 3, 2012
I wasn't talking salary. Lee is overpaid. His true worth is somewhere between what Millsap makes and what he makes.
Lee should be an all-star for what he makes. They’re all the same level of PF and good enough to be a piece of the puzzle, but no all-star which what the Warriors need. I am not sure why Millsap gets credit and Lee doesn’t.
callahan - February 3, 2012
for me
my biggest complaints on Lee are almost exclusively related to how much we pay him.
But that’s only because I like his crafty white man game, and am willing to accept poor defense
Duby Dub Dubs - February 3, 2012
Now Scola was in the driver’s seat and steered away from the money ; can one blame Lee for getting what he could?
polar - February 3, 2012 via mobile
No, I fully blame Riley
tafkasam - February 3, 2012
Millsap is probably a better defender overall. It’s probably about even in the end. Both good players.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
utah has no reason to do this
bigkino217 - February 3, 2012
Uhh... no. Utah is in the same boat as GSW. They have no guaranteed 2012 first round pick. At least, we have a high 2nd rounder.
callahan - February 3, 2012
Curry and the unprotected 1st for Favors or Kanter?

utah knows we're not going to have a bottom 7 pick
why would they give us kanter (last year’s #3) or favors (previous year’s #3) just on the off-chance that we hit the lottery? it’s stupid
bigkino217 - February 3, 2012
Also, we can screw Utah two-ways. Win a lot of games and make the playoffs. Then they get a lower pick. The other is to tank and get a top six pick.

For at least this one game...
… there is no reason for a Steph vs. Monta debate.
They both played awesome, were in sync, and their games were complementary. You can cite Utah’s depleted backcourt if you like, but they played this way against the Bulls, too. Of course, whether or not they can build off this is the question.
Steph seemed much more aggressive… hopefully this means he’s starting to ‘forget’ his ankle and just play.

I see alot of Favors in Tyler. Both are in the same boat imo.
J-RIDAH - February 3, 2012
Can you stop?
GovernorStephCurry - February 3, 2012
That’s rather optimistic. Favors is almost universally seen as a future beast. He’s going to be amazing once he develops a go-to move.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
don’t most players enter COLLEGE with a go-to move?

Big men? No. It takes years for a big man to come into his own.

so you think tyler is going to be a bust now? that’s quite the change from what you thought earlier
bigkino217 - February 3, 2012
Favors: strong rebounder with tremendous athleticism. I would LOVE to have that guy.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
as would I
i’m just pointing out that J is trying to talk tyler up by saying he’s basically the same player as a guy he has talked badly about in the past.
bigkino217 - February 3, 2012
for the record
i don’t think they’re even close, and neither should anyone else that has ever watched them.
bigkino217 - February 3, 2012
Tyler, even if he turns out far better than expected, will never be as good as Favors is likely to become. Favor’s ceiling is EXTREMELY high.
Naticus - February 3, 2012
So
I few games back I said it was encouraging that Curry and DLee were finally getting some good pick and rolls/pops going.
Seems like that trend is continuing. I like. :D
Badly Browned - February 3, 2012
I don’t feel that Favors is more athletic than Tyler. And I think if Tyler played 20 minutes per game for over a season he would rebound comparably. Shooting has not been noteworthy for Favors of yet, so I see no advantage for Favors.

Check this out
Monta got snub again on NBA top 10 play of the night. He got Snub in the all star, on NBA Highlights, But why CP3 got the no#1 play on Wednesday, then Monta did it the next day on Thursday against the Jazz. But NBA did not even include it on its top 10 plays.
