i think Lin would have been nice as a backup PG, but I don’t think he would have done the same type of thing as he has done in New York. New York NEEDED and STARTING PG and he has certainly delivered.
And plus, I will always be a fan of Jeremy Lin, but on the Warriors, I knew he would not get his chances given the multitude of guards and not enough good big men. With that said, I am a Lin fan not a Knicks fan just because I don’t like Amare and Melo.
no matter what lin does, beans will never roll anymore.
watching him play this season, when he does set a pick and roll, he tends to pass it back or to a shooter. He never completely rolls. Curry is an amazing PnR player, but he doesn’t have the right type of Center to pick and roll with. DLee is amazing at it, but in terms of all the front court pressure on that one guy is hard to win.
well watching curry's rookie year and sophomore, I would see a lot of PnR with Lee and even Turiaf and SF.
And it was beautiful to watch. And yes I blame Beans because even if he rolls, opposing teams don’t collapse because they know he will pass. Its frustrating to watch and I sense even when Beans is coming for the pass, Curry doesn’t even look into his direction.
But I will give Lin the credit where he does give the rock more often than not compared to Curry and Lin is more of the prototypical PG. But I think Curry is a special and different hybrid of a PG and a SG.
sitting at my computer for about 20 minutes trying to put my thoughts into words and express my feelings on “if lin was still on the warriors debacle” good thing i decided to scratch it, i completely agree with everything you said lol!
From everything I have read about him he is a great young man. I am very happy for him. However, I think we are getting it wrong for blaming management for missing out. Can we remember back to what Lin looked like when he played for us. He was a plus defender who was not a good passer and a very bad shooter who also could not finish at all. I have never seen a player get blocked that much. He has developed marvelously, found a great scheme, or played against bad defenses. I hope it is the first or second for his sake, but we were not the only team to pass on him. There was a reason. If you want to get angry at Riley and management blame the overvaluing of David Lee. Blame bad draft decisions. Lin was a mistake that most teams would make. The Knicks only brought him back from D-League because they are desperate for any above garbage pg play they could find.
When Lin got to play last year, he was pretty good. Not until later Smart asking to do nothing and shoot midrange when he is open. He was not allow to drive or hold the ball when he pass the half court.
I remember Lin getting pretty good penetration most times he played, but finishing horribly. I don’t recall his midrange game being very good, either. In short, I agree with pericles, minus the bit about bad passer since I don’t remember how his passing was.
Thanks forgot to mention the penetration. Lin did have a skill for getting to the hoop. It was what he did there that was frustrating. Players don’t gain skills just because. I am sure the adjustments came from hard work and focus. As I said before, good for Jeremy.
well in terms of Warriors

I think with Lin, Beans could be better than Chandler
Pick and Roll, baby!

i think all these statements are excuses
Beans used to be a great pick and roll player, so is DLee. With both on the court, Curry can’t do PNR is because of their fault??

Not sure if you are serious....
These are from Nate Rob on flights back or to a game….

It doesn’t look like he’s losing sleep over anything, including the team’s crappy record.
