TV: CSN Bay Area | Radio: KNBR 680
The last four games have been tough on the Golden State Warriors and last night's loss to the Los Angeles Lakers was tough to watch due to the turnovers in the second quarter followed by poor rebounding in the third quarter.
As I wrote earlier while trying to sort through my thoughts about this young season, it's sort of hard to know what to make of this team right now - they've got a new coach, no real preseason preparation, and are now battling injuries. That's not an excuse for things like, oh...say... squandering fast break layup attempts, but it makes it hard to evaluate a team seven games in.
And yet they have to move forward with another game tonight that will hopefully make us forget the last few games.

In case you had forgotten about Mark Jackson's forgettable stint in Utah, the folks at SLC Dunk haven't and they linked to a 2003 SI article by Ian Thomsen about tension in the locker room between Jackson and John Stockton:
Three members of the Jazz organization now understand why Jackson has been traded seven times in his 16-year career: They say that over a period of weeks, he succeeded in turning several teammates against Stockton by repeatedly remarking that those players would be better off if Jackson were the Jazz's floor leader. Other players rallied around Stockton, who, because of his quiet nature, was vulnerable to the locker room politicking...Jackson says his actions were in no way aimed at Stockton. "I'm a born leader, and if people take that as manipulation, then maybe they haven't been around leaders," he says. "I make no apologies for embracing people and talking to people and making them feel like they're important. Maybe in the past those stray dogs have been left on the side, but that's not the way I treat people."
That's not a glowing endorsement of a future head coach, but we'll just keep that tucked away in the SI vault from now on.

accurate breakdown
i dont see a way to be able to overcome the Jazz big’s unless the breakdown happens from their side
j-spliff415 - January 7, 2012
I was surprised to see Bay Area news outlets praising Kwame's "defense" on Bynum
Bynum and Gasol pounded us on the boards. Kwame did nothing there – yes, he scored more than Bynum, but that’s all he did.
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
I only saw a little of the game, but it does look like Bynum was held in check. He has been on a tear recently and it seems the Warriors slowed him down a little bit. 9 pts on 3-9 shooting is not very good. His 16 boards were good, but pretty much in line with what he has been pulling down recently. Overall, I’d say Kwame did a pretty good job on him.
Pippen - January 7, 2012
Kobe Happened. He just found batteries to his time machine.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
I really don't know why Mark Jackson wanted to undermine Stockton
The guy is a Hall of Fame point guard. Mark Jackson was 38 years old when he joined the Jazz – I doubt he was going to do much better

just watch it as a student of the game and not as a fan of a team. Where you live shouldn’t determine your enjoyment of a sport, especially one played by carpet bagging mercenaries working for 1%’ er corporate bosses :>) That should make you feel better.
Seriously , Hope your uncle gets better soon and be thankful you got that girl to piss you off…

I'm all for Kwame to continue catching the ball
He needs to start finishing with the ball…
Badly Browned - January 7, 2012
finish with authority. he is actually rolling which is refreshing.
needs more monta dishes to boost confidence.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
this is not true
Kwame’s Fg% is .484 this season -i guess it’s pretty not exactly ‘high percentage’
he’s career high on rebounds but his TS is around his rookie sophomore seasons
so D is where he belongs 4 offense here is other C who is better rebounder also
Lat We N Trash - January 7, 2012
I consider layups high percentage scoring opportunity for a basketball team
But yes, point taken about Kwame. He did play better than he has over the course of his career last night though.

Tank!
Anonymous1337 - January 7, 2012 via mobile
That never works for the Warriors. They’ll play like S all season and then go on a winning streak at the end to lose the pick to Utah. Or they’ll finish with the sixth best record and have 2 teams jump ahead of them in the lottery.
Pippen - January 7, 2012
I'd wager on us being really bad
Then going on a winning streak at the end. We love doing that.
ejdacanay - January 7, 2012
I think Warriors need a 3 month worth of
long pre-Season games, by the time they get it going. It will be regular season.
mykelala01 - January 7, 2012
looks like we got a shot to be the 2nd worst team in the league.. washington at 0-7 is just rediculously good at being bad
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
Pick 2
Harrison Barnes
mykelala01 - January 7, 2012
that is a big name. i dont know all who would be available but hey, lets face it, the draft is and has been our "playoffs"
i…… believe..
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
I'm the resident Tar Heel fan
But I like Davis a tad bit more than Barnes.
ejdacanay - January 7, 2012
pick 2 would have to be whoever is left over between davis and drummond
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
is there any bigs that are top 5 yet in your opinion?
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
Davis and Drummond
I’ll take Davis first though
ejdacanay - January 7, 2012
what he said
i like perry jones and sully as well as borderline top 5 picks
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
here is a potential setback for such a nice draft~
maybe players (college ones) recognize the depth of the draft and hold out in college until the following year?
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
I doubt they will
2013 is just a step behind 2012 in talent, the crop of HS seniors this year is fairly strong.
ejdacanay - January 7, 2012
darn.. not sure if i can hangle tanking this year AND next.. but i will do it for the greater cause!
championship 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
Sullinger has to be Top-5.
Everyone else hasn’t gotten it going yet.
Davis
Drummond
Lamb
Barned
Sullinger
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
Question for him is
how does he project in the NBA? His upside isn’t nearly as high, and he’s not very athletic.
I’m a Buckeye fan, but I don’t think he’ll be anywhere near as good in the NBA as he is in college.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
I see a big fat ass though. I say that as a good thing.
He’s got girth like some good big men do. He’s not a slug either. I could see him fall anywhere between Brandon Bass with post moves or Paul Millsap. Sullinger has legit post moves and some counter moves. Plus he has produced (although I haven’t checked him out recently).
I’d say he’s a solid 4 prospect. I don’t think he’ll completely wash out like Ike Diogu who also kinda looks similar. It’s still early I guess, but Sullinger seems like a high floor guy to me. Potential doesn’t come close to the first three guys on my list though. Barnes seems like a very young, and athletic role player to me.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
LOL his butt has a Twitter
I think his post moves work because they’re aren’t usually 7 footers out there on the floor. He shoots his hook shots very low and he doesn’t get off the floor quickly because of his weight. I could see him maybe where Elton Brand was, but I think that’s best option. I could also see him as a slightly better Big Baby. I think he needs to lose some of the weight and get stronger, more athletic. He has good touch, but when the PFs and Cs are all bigger than you at the next level, he’s going to need to go around or over them to use that touch, which I don’t think he’s capable of now.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
I'd have to look more into him then.
Can he finish with both hands? I thought his hands were pretty good and has pretty good footwork. I’m just most impressed with his array of post moves. If he has a knack for scoring it’ll show in the NBA. Just guessing whether if it WILL show is up for debate.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
Those are definitely his strengths.
I don’t think he won’t make it or be an absolute bust. He’ll be able to fill a role for sure. Just not sure if he’ll ever be good enough to be the top post-up option for a championship team/contender.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
im getting kinda giddy on the tank train already now... haha
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012

gonna be a big game for Klay
Staticlysmic - January 7, 2012

PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
why wouldn’t he?

givin that he has had only one good game so far and several "crappy" ones, there isnt much to suggest it
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
I thought he showed some nice progress in the Spurs game and he hit a couple of threes in the Suns game as well. I’m not saying his struggles are over, but he is definitely headed in the right direction.

Trade Monta for another 1st round pick, shutdown Curry for a month and get a future superstar in the upcoming draft.
Thats what the Spurs did with The Admiral and they won numerous titles.
Anonymous1337 - January 7, 2012 via mobile
if we could get a #1 for ellis i would pull the trigger! at least in this years draft as long as its like top 10.
rest curry~ fully agree!!!!!
two #1 picks for this coming draft could be very potent for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
Yes.
One more year of pure suck will potentially net us two amazing young players if our FO makes all the right moves.
Anonymous1337 - January 7, 2012 via mobile
unfortunately
the front office is hell bent on being mediocre
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
do you think anyone would cough up a #1 for ellis? given the draft is always a gamble?
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
maybe a pick in the 10-15 range?
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
im guessing you would take that. no?
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
eh i'd probably need a top 10 pick
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
depends how well he plays this season
i think his value has increased a bit so far
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
i almost like the idea of sliding him to the point with jenkins behind him.
and just start klay there for what its worth.. rest curry
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
i meant klay at the 2 obviously
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
id rather start rush over klay
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
is that with a proper tank in mind or no?
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
unless we're trying to tank of course
then play klay all day
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
hahah that is what i thought.. ( ;
hell bench beans , at this point i havent seen any renewed energy or mental focus.. START TYLER too!!!!!!! get that boy some game experience
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
With this 2012 class, a pick in the 8-12 range is worth trading Monta for.
Anonymous1337 - January 7, 2012 via mobile
i would maybe do it too (if it were the 11th or 12th i would like to know whos in the draft)
PIRATEWARRIOR - January 7, 2012
I think he can get us higher, his stock is gradually climbing.
If a team can coax us into giving a 1st for Marcus Williams, then we can get better for Monta.
ejdacanay - January 7, 2012
Oh, Cohan's running another team now?
ohcleverhansyou - January 7, 2012
Donald Sterling traded a 1st Round pick to be rid of Baron Davis last year.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
I'd do it
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
I don’t know who’s gonna have a good night but I hope it’s D-Wright. I can picture Klay rushing shots again and having bad defense. I think Lee might have a big night.
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
I don’t get it. I honestly don’t see this “looking impressive as a distributor” thing. I see Monta dominating the ball, and while he’s been doing a better job so far this season of dishing when he doesn’t have a shot, it’s still abundantly clear he’s thinking shoot-first. Everything gets stagnant, Lee is turned into a jump-shooter, and Monta puts up impressive per-game numbers if you don’t look too closely at the details.
It’s a slightly better version of the SJax offense, and not a successful winning strategy.
Ronaldinho - January 7, 2012
Monta isn’t really shoot first. He drives to lure defenders then dishes. Slightly better than Sjax? True and good comparison. Lee isn’t as aggressive as when he was a Knick, maybe because he got what he wanted; a big contract and he doesn’t need to step his game up as much.
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
Lee isn’t as aggressive as when he was a Knick, maybe because he got what he wanted
or maybe he’s just tooth shy?
Skeptic con Urquell - January 7, 2012
Monta is totally shoot-first.
If he drove to lure defenses then dished, you wouldn’t consistently see him having by far the most number of shots on the team in games where he was the de facto initiator.
Ronaldinho - January 7, 2012
who do you want taking the most shots with curry out?
Xtremelink - January 7, 2012 via mobile
I want a functioning team offense with ball and player movement.
When Monta is the initiator, I want him initiating the offense first and looking for a shot second.
The team should be, for example, working much harder to get Lee good looks. They should be running pick-and-rolls with Biedrins. These things don’t happen enough when Curry is running the show, but they stop happening almost completely when Monta is.
Ronaldinho - January 7, 2012
kinda agree, back when Baron was here Monta barely had iso plays. THat should be how Curry/Ellis back-court be like.
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
i agree
You want the team to run a different offense fine, but with the current style, I would rather have Monta taking the most shots. Ultimately someone has to take the most shots and get blamed when they lose and get praise when they win.
Xtremelink - January 7, 2012 via mobile
he is only shoot first when people are stagnant, otherwise he's been looking to pass most of the time
he dominates the ball for 2 reasons, curry is out and hes the best option
Lee has not been going up strong at all , when he does dive hard he gets the ball and even when he doesnt we still try and feed him and it just doesnt work
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
I disagree
The game where Curry got hurt was a great example. Lee was active and moving and getting a lot of shots.
Then Curry went down, and all of a sudden so did Lee’s shots. It’s not the first time I’ve seen that pattern, either – the more Monta is running the offense, the less active Lee is, the fewer shots he gets.
Ronaldinho - January 7, 2012
lee looking tired in the 3rd
every game lee seems to start out good, and then fizzle. mistakes, turnovers and no hustle in the 3rd and 4th quarters. maybe his conditioning isnt up to par.
would like to see udoh/kwame more and bring in tyler to spell kwame.
200k - January 7, 2012
i also see this
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Monta passes the ball well when Curry is on the floor, but then the ball movement pretty much dies when Curry goes out. I guess Monta feels like he has to do all the scoring, but it’s still not good for the team.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
Monta has set people up way more then curry has this year
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Monta finds Lee
then watches him fail to dunk or finish at the basket. He’s not as good as getting it to Lee in the mid-range, Curry’s better at that, but Lee, in that San Antonio game was PASSING UP those jump shots. He tried to drive a couple times, and passed it back out even more. Like 200k said, he jets slow, tired, even lazy in the 2nd half. I think that was a bigger part of it than Steph going out with an injury.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
He’s not very good at much else :/
I expect bigs to be able to finish easy baskets, and he can’t.
Obviously, Monta is score-first. He’s a shooting guard. Obviously playing more and more like a point, but his role on this team is to score. But there’s no one else to run the offense through, so he’s definitely on-ball more than any of us want. Given the circumstances, I think he’s been doing a good job of pretty much everything.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
I’m a little disappointed in Lee’s game so far, I was looking for a passing extraordinaire!! working the give and go with Monta and Curry, a little mixture of the Bird man even, well I guess if he don’t pan out we can just amnesty him?
Oh wait a sec, that option wasn’t important said Riley! yeah, in a pigs eye m8ty..
Cryptic - January 7, 2012
"the amnesty isnt even important!"
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Lee has always been a jump-shooter
He’s supposed to be a pick and pop midrange shooter
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
Look at his distribution of shots his last two years in New York, and compare then to his distribution of shots here.
I don’t have the exact number in front of me, but Lee started taking a much greater percentage of his shots from outside of 8 feet when he came to the Warriors.
It is, in my opinion, the primary reason why his efficiency went down dramatically when he came here. He’s a good mid-range shooter for a big man but he’s an excellent pick-and-roll scorer … and we just don’t use him that way.
Ronaldinho - January 7, 2012
The very reason he became overvalued
was because he became able to hit that midrange shot, not for his pick and roll game. If you look at his final year with the Knicks, he became pretty accurate from outside and added a dimension to the offense. He took about the same amount of long jumpers here as he did in his last season with the Knicks. The problem is not that he became a shooter – it is that he was never as good in pick and roll as people thought. He played as a center in New York and often went against slower centers, allowing him to score more efficiently. The power forward spot in the Western Conference is stacked – it’s much harder for him to go inside than it was in the East.
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
+1
before he became a good shooter he was just a garbage man, it was when he hit jumpers is when he started breaking out and centers cant guard him in the east. Do you think an old Shaq really could stay with his Pnr or Pnp for example / or perkins? In the West players can stay with him
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Interesting. Lee does get roof'd a lot in games where he goes up against bigger players (almost nightly).
I was just wondering this the other day. I wondered if the fact that Lee went up against other centers gave him a big advantage offensively. Then when he goes up against smaller but quicker PF’s if his game suffers.
If the second part is true and we just got a PnP (Pick and Pop) big man without any defense and underwhelming rebounding numbers then we’re probably gonna suck for awhile if we don’t try and move him.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
I hated the deal when they made it
I thought he was overpaid and overrated.
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
I agree. He was never needed in the first place.
I think we should all go out of our way to thank Riley for this one. Thank him with fire and pitchforks.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
Not that I want to trade Monta, but this is the year to do it if they plan on eventually trading him.
We would lose more games (yes I know this sounds bad, but we need the young talent) and could very well keep our pick, and get some good young talent in a deal that included him.

IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Monta needs to stop the whole
Jumping up and passing it thing
Badly Browned - January 7, 2012
He’s looking to score, and only passes when he has to, trapped in the air
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Yeah
and the other problem is that the other team knows what plays he’s got
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
True dat
I played ball today and so many guys were doing that after ball hogging for hella long and their teams sucked because of no ball movement.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
Game.
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
where is andris when you need him
AL is tooquick for kwame
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
We are turning the ball over a lot
same old Warriors
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
Raja Bell: waived by Larry Riley.
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
yeah, but i think i remeber why
because they had to go for the healthy players in that season of injuries
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
but still we could have kept him then resigned him instead of burning a bridge
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
i don't think he burned a bridge
from what i read, Raja Bell said he totally understood the Warriors injury situation
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
he was injured
And he wasn’t going to resign with us anyways
Badly Browned - January 7, 2012
wrist surgery i remember
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Did DWright just fool someone else with the pumpfake?
hallelujah
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
very half court stagnant offense
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Sooner or later, I think Mark Jackson needs to go small
spread the floor and get some offense going
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Hayward lighting us up?
Yeah, sounds about right
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
lol Kwame
QualityOverQuantity - January 7, 2012
Didn't want Nate to take that quick 3
but i’ll take that
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
I'll think we'll see a lot of those
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
arrrrgh
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
That's who Nate is
just accept it
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
yeah, that won't mean i'll like it
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
I feel you
I don’t like it either
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
and he'll miss
about 4 out of 5
kildare - January 7, 2012
wonder if the warriors are fatigued from the road trip
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
were too thin on playmakers or go to guys
only monta and curry can make a play . lee is reliant on others to be good
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Monta should be taking a break. He is playing about 40 min per game
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
easiest way to do that
turn this into a blowout
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
more hops that a swimming pool full of what???
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
beer
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
how corny
Matt Steinmetz please
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
The Jazz are exploiting our aggressive defense
Making quick passes and beating the rotation
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
no idea
calvinnhobbes - January 7, 2012
oh god we have the girl ref
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Violet Palmer!
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
She is the worst ref ever
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
I can't believe she's still employed
Every team’s fans hate her too, she doesn’t even have a bias, she’s just bad at her job lol
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
monta so sexy
calvinnhobbes - January 7, 2012
i wanted favors so bad in that draft
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Monta vs Raja starting from the 3 pt line? Raja has no chance
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
twas favors
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
oops, that wasn't Raja
That was Favors
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
There's our Klay
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
I think Udoh's clunky mechanics is costing him travelling and moving screen violations
Badly Browned - January 7, 2012
Nate high rebound tap!
nice energy!
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Klay Allen no more
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Oh Klay
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
This game affirms that Monta still plays best off the ball
instead of on the ball. I love the dishes by Monta when he drives as much as anyone but if there’s anything I’ve noticed it’s that his dishes are very last minute when he is in the air which is fundamentally a bad idea because it leads to more turnovers. People are just noticing that his passes are reaching his target a little better but he still isn’t a point guard. Curry’s passes are more crisp and on target when he drives and dishes and he can get by people like that because people respect his shot, whereas no one respects monta’s shot as much (and shouldn’t because it still is an awful shot).
Nith - January 7, 2012
his pick and roll passes arent in the air
its when he drives baseline and kicks back out and curry cant create for others like monta on pick and rolls. He throws lobs and 3’s out better though
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Curry's passes are sketchy as hell.
Coldlampin - January 7, 2012 via mobile
WOW at that Earl Watson rainbow
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
klay plays bricks at home…
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
We should have his dad in arena at all times
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
He's building a house here
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
oraklay arena that is..
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
is it just mee
or udoh needs more lower body strength..
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
The Warriors should be doing what the Jazz are doing
The Jazz went deep into the bench, they just played a game yesterday.
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
damn, this result is awesome when you consider how bad we are playing
AmaruEternal1989 - January 7, 2012
Is Greg Monroe still beasting?
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Pretty beastly
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
Ugh
…Oh Warriors
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
It really is time to blow it up
This mediocre play has gone on for way too long
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
Yep. Monroe has been on fire lately.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
Somehow we score
but they score back EASILY
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
NATE 3!
calvinnhobbes - January 7, 2012
Nate instant offense off the bench
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Klay did a good job jumper at the shot without jumping INTO the shooter
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Ill take that Nate
but stop jacking 3
mykelala01 - January 7, 2012
That's what everyone tells him
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
Did you see Nate flying in trying to block that?
I think he DID hit the ball, too
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
There's a fast break!
nicely done
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Tyler!? Oooooh
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
the new randolph is in
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
haha
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
Looked like he was there.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
how did klay score again?
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
he hit a ???
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
rush 333
calvinnhobbes - January 7, 2012
Nate passes up his own 3 to find Rush, I like that!
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Nate shows up to use the pump fake
and then he shows how to kick to the open 3
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
It works when Nate does it (and when Curry does it)
because people respect Nate’s shot… Everyone knows monta wants to drive and not really shot the jump shot but hes not big enough to really get to the rim at will… Hence why Curry is better for this team and why Monta is limited. How come Monta hasn’t bulked up very much all his time here?
Nith - January 7, 2012
i like nate
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
and we're only down 4!
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
i hate you thomspson
calvinnhobbes - January 7, 2012
i KNEW Klay would miss that
right idea to do triple threat, at least
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
klay shoots to willingly
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Seriously, Klay
Sup?
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
A foul?!?!?!?!?!?
Badly Browned - January 7, 2012
Hit the deck Klay! You're wasting space.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
Jeremy Tyler, what on earth are you doing fouling there?
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
klay was the only one that didnt dive at that
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
Kwame nice dive to the floor
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
lol Jackson looked defeated
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012

dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Stephen A. was right about Kwame..
the guy is a scrub, but he’s a Dub so I’ll root for him. but, my God, he is awful.
okeephoss - January 7, 2012

IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012

ugh dumb
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Monta u so good at fouling
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
this is a bad Warrior team right now...
okeephoss - January 7, 2012
D!
okeephoss - January 7, 2012
Oooh, wonder if Monta got away with a push off on Bell
heh
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
lmao monta just shoved him
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
lee go up
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
WOW Lee, you pass!? Just awful
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012

okeephoss - January 7, 2012
We'll be able to tank without trying
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
utah is terrible
okeephoss - January 7, 2012

IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
We're even more terrible
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
somehow, we're only down 3?
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
again, Utah is terrible
okeephoss - January 7, 2012
I'm in mid-season form,
not paying attention to the score and just watching the game
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012

dubzfan - January 7, 2012

123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012

IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012

killerk968 - January 7, 2012
Nice Klay behind the back to a midrange Lee
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012

calvinnhobbes - January 7, 2012
Whoa, double screen Kwame and Lee
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Kwame NICE rebound tap to Monta
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
I hate playing for the 8th worst record
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
aww kwame's lonely
calvinnhobbes - January 7, 2012
Kwame presence in the paint stopped that Jazz drive into the paint
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
how did monta miss?
calvinnhobbes - January 7, 2012
MONTA DAMN IT
Badly Browned - January 7, 2012
Monta dunk FAIL on a beautiful inbounds play
Keith Smart rolling over in his grave
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
keith smart is DEAD???
kildare - January 7, 2012
haha
no just a cool phrase i stole from the Chuckster
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Makes sense.
ALL of that, makes sense for us.
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
LOL
stereotada - January 7, 2012
Monta learned it from Kwame
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
AAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW
Monta went up for the AWESOME dunk. thatd have been so good, a poster
i can see that being a momentum shifter for him
_dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Nate is laughing at Monta’s dunk skills.
cybermaldonado - January 7, 2012
haha
yeah, and Monta laughing at Nate losing the ball in last night’s fast break for no reason
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
watch monta not be able to make anything now ....
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
naw
he’ll be okay!
killerk968 - January 7, 2012
oooooh, that was CLOSE
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Not a bad half
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
nate you got a blue thing in your hair and its bothering me
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Well just stck a feather in Nate's hair.
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Haha
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
This isn't exactly a "grinding" game
what’s a better word to describe it?
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
cool runnings
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
slopfest?
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
if the pace and quality of this game continues through the 2nd half, bingo
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Monta, as well as he played at times,
has at least 3 plays on offense that are just WTH.
Need a little more consistency. Other than the missed dunk, though, he and the team were much better in the 2nd quarter.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
If he makes that dunk
we might finish with a 4 point lead, and him on fire going into the half. Now, we’re looking at a 1 point lead with him missing his final two attempts. Hopefully that won’t affect his mindset going into the 2nd half.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
3rd qtr
hopefully we could start making shots. weve been cold lately starting the 3rd qtr.
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
Jenk!
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Jenkins, nice rebound
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
lol Durell
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Monta we NEED you to find your stroke
can’t keep missing those wide open looks.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Jenkins strong to the rim
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Please be good Jenkins!
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Dorell Wrong
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
Warriors good defense to stop that initial pick and roll
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
You KNOW that was a foul Milsap,
How do you argue that
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
I think I like Lee playing further away from the rim like that
start from the perimeter, take the long 2, drive and finish or dish to Kwame
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Lee is a lazy F^&%*^ defender
didn’t do anything as Millsap dropped in the jumper.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
sometimes david lee passes too much instead of finishing it at the rim…
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
Monta make your DAMN FTs
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Wish we could have Curry as our designated FT Shooter lol
Badly Browned - January 7, 2012
That's weird to see both Lee and Kwame rolling to the hoop on that pick and roll
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Great Monta went cold after that end to the 1st half
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Yeah, I saw that offensive foul coming
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
definitely an illegal screen
but Raja is all over Monta. as usual.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Ugh, Lee, gross
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Kwame great defense on Al Jefferson
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
That truly IS a horrible call
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Lee can't defend like Kwame
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
we need new officials…
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
Kwame stuffing Jefferson
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Kwame only deserving to be on the court right now.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
lol Jim always pointing out where the ball should go, duh
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
should the ball ever NOT go between the 2 Warriors?
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
lol
He even uses the telustrator
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Lee, you needed to finish taht!
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012

Brownie13 - January 7, 2012

duballers23 - January 7, 2012

stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
2 shots :/
in the quarter so far. 4 points :/
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
thats what i mean everytime we start the 3rd. sigh*
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
too much 1+1 plays
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
Both teams shooting .400 from the field
Why even bother
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
Monta's missed 5 in a row now
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Do we have any form of offense at all?
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
weeeee...
suck
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Lee, that was yours to finish too!
What’s wrong with you!
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012

Badly Browned - January 7, 2012
Udoh LUCKY Jefferson missed
Udoh left him alone!
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
he pump faked with no one on him
imitating Dorell
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Devin Harris was counting on the whistle there
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Damn, Utah is just as cold. We're lucky it's only a 7 point deficit.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
Isn't there a mercy rule for these games?
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
There you go, Monta to an inside Lee dunk
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
more of that.
if he can do that, why not EVERYTIME
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
if i knew that answer, i'd tell you
maybe mark jackson and staff still trying to figure out what does and doesn’t work
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
im so mad right now.
dont think ive ever disliked the way a warrior was playing this much.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
That one ref is dumb
And it’s not even Violet Palmer
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Easy to see why Kanter is a good rebounder.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
cuz he misses everything and it comes right back to him?
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Ha well maybe. Like DMC..
But the one right there he walled Udoh off with one hand while grabbing the rebound. Quite impressive.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
hes definitely strong
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
His offense however so far...
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
finish that monta
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
i hate to say this

IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012

123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
Jazz bench all in now
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Jazz all ready to suffocate Monta's plays
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Shut up Bob. You and your false hope.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
Bob False Hope?
cybermaldonado - January 7, 2012
Yes
His hope is based on a fantasy
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
nice fast break from the zone defense
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
i was expecting a dunk
lol
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
it takes a lot for him to get up and dunk lol
its why it took 30 tries in the Dunk contest that one time
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
That was a great fast break.
kenntoe - January 7, 2012
monta is dead tired again
not even played that many minutes
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012

stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app

IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Udoh nice help on the zone defense at the rim!
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012

123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012

stereotada - January 7, 2012
Wow it's getting a little exciting
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012

stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
arrrggg mcguired needs to give it up sooner so they can lob it back for a dunk
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
damn that was a nice block.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012

stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
Yay, we can beat their bench
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
lol shoot. it'd be horribel if we couldn't
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
LOL I just realized that too
Monta’s playing a lot of minutes again isn’t he :(
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
29:39 out of 36 min
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
sounds pretty normal for him
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
luckily, we get 2 days until the next game, Tue
so I can see why Mark Jackson not quite as hesitant to play Monta big minutes tonight
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Why don't we just make him run a treadmill for ten hours
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
why stop at 10 ;)
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
not sure ive ever seen monta shoot FTs this well
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
probably because i dont think he has
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
13 of 14
and 14 of 16
highest total is 14 (twice, other time 14 of 19)
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
hopefully breaks that tonight
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012

bigkino217 - January 7, 2012

Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
NATE = REGGIE MILLRE

So it's
Klay>Nate>Reggie, right?
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
yessir
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
he's more like Jamal Crawford than people give him credit for
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
i actually think he's more like a smaller, 3pt shooting version of monta
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
he doesn't really attack the rim much though
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
the numbers are similar, but they get them differently
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
he's better at setting up teammates than players like crawford though
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
well, the old monta
not the better passing version of monta we’ve seen this year
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
Nate Allen
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Awww
I wanted Nate to make that 3
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
I'd like to see Lee jump when his defender takes a shot
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
Does Lee ever contest a shot with more than 10% effort?
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012

Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
See? Lee from the perimeter = more space to work with
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012

too often he stands around THEN decides to attack the basket
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
Monta time please
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
as you wish
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012

bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
time to find out if jackson is the kind of coach that will wait to beat the buzzer or score quickly when down 1
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012

bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
SO agree
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
Great playcall Mark Jackson
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012

bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012

bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012

bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
ya but that was years ago

The inability to finish fast breaks really killed us
I mean, WTF. It was ugly how we ran the break.
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
jackson
did you make that play? you know theres 4 other people on this team.
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
Monta one on one with Raja aint really a good playcall for the last shot....
Badly Browned - January 7, 2012
dumb play, went for the foul..... iono what to say
just a bad play , bad shot, bad end
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
If we could even finish ONE fastbreak
we win the game
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
Did have one nice one w/ Monta and Nate
cybermaldonado - January 7, 2012
seriously
could’ve done any kind of pick and roll or iso with a kick out when the defenders come in…
killerk968 - January 7, 2012
We are bad
at Fastbreak.
mykelala01 - January 7, 2012
buuuuuuut
we’re the WARRIORSSSSSSSSS!
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
maybe that what
happen when you emphasize on defense
you can’t have both world
mykelala01 - January 7, 2012
so... 8-22 shooting, 6 asts, 6 TO, 32 points.
Am I the only one who thinks we’re really missing Curry badly? 32 points is nice, but those 14 missed shots and 6 TO (should have been more to be honest) really hurt. Everyone loves Monta’s drive and dishes but it’s always last minute dishes and no one really expects him to pass when he’s high in the air like that.
Nith - January 7, 2012
i'm happy to see that he is getting to the line though.
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
Am I the only one who thinks we’re really missing Curry badly?
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
but it’s always last minute dishes and no one really expects him to pass when he’s high in the air like that.
his pnr passes disagree
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
They are really missing anyone else who can score along with Monta. And Steph can do that.
cybermaldonado - January 7, 2012
32 points on 22 fga is fantastic. That’s the way stars score their points. Monta’s scoring efficiency hasn’t been that great this year (or the two before it) but it certainly wasn’t the problem tonight.
Sleepy Freud - January 7, 2012
completely agreed with this
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
back to the basics
fundamentals. We lost this game because there were like a hand full of easy plays that went wrong.
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
Bingo
thanks for the title inspiration
IQofaWarrior - January 7, 2012
monta shooting
was bad the whole game and we let him shoot the game winning shot? come on jackson
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
He is our only
consistent scorer
mykelala01 - January 7, 2012
it doesn't bother me so much that monta too the last shot
just that we ran a crappy play. raja bell is a very good defender. we couldn’t set a pick or something?
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
scorer yes,
shooting perimeter No
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
coach couldve seen that
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
if
ellis drove to the basket, we couldve atleast get a foul atleast theres a better chance getting a foul. *sigh
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
another bad shooting night for ellis
maryjane - January 7, 2012
when on the ball he doesnt shoot as well but pases better, its the trade off
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
i'd still go to ellis for the last shot regardless
he’s in a shooting slump, except his free throwing tonight
maryjane - January 7, 2012
It’s not a slump when it’s always
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
well hes usually around 45% ish and hes lower so it is a slump
but the whole team is in a shooting slump
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
agreed
we need to put more effort on that side of the floor
maryjane - January 7, 2012
The Monta missed dunk also comes back to haunt us
This team apparently cannot make easy shots
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
I’d prefer a Klay three to that Monta shot
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
so he can klank out like he did in the pre season game and all night tonight?
maryjane - January 7, 2012
klank? pretty sure he didn't hit the rim lol
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
oh god no
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
I stand by this! lol
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
You mean Klaynk?
I’d prefer someone coming off a high screen with David Lee and then giving Lee the ball to shoot the midrange jumper while his defender helps on the screen
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
I’d prefer a Klay three to that Monta shot
haha, tanking already
Skeptic con Urquell - January 7, 2012
Monta kinda forced this shot, it was close not like it was off the mark
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
?????
Lol
dont_stop_believin' - January 7, 2012
He forced the shot, but it wasn’t like it was way off. If he made it, ppl wouldn’t have said bad play.
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
It's still a bad shot/play, but I don't see how it's forced (1 sec left).
dont_stop_believin' - January 7, 2012
nvm about forced, didnt notice clock
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
Why didn't Monta do the shot he made versus the Kings and Pacers?
Should have just replicated that
GSW_fan - January 7, 2012
getting calls he went for the bump
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
You can't always expect to be bailed out by a whistle...
GSW_fan - January 7, 2012
don't say that to d.wade or k.bryant
maryjane - January 7, 2012
He should know that refs late in the game don't blow the whistle on little bumps with the game on the line.
Darkness - January 7, 2012
our fastbreaks
are so bad. like TERRIBLE. we missed so many opportunities. lee’s and kwame’s hands aren’t great either, we keep throwing passes into way too much traffic. lee still did okay this game, not impressed with dwright. we are not good at all…
killerk968 - January 7, 2012
jackson needs to put some effort into the offense side of things
maryjane - January 7, 2012
Anyone notice that the Raptors only scored 62 points in an entire game?
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
so we tank and get dwight howard???
or is that not possible lol.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
might as well tank since it is a shorter season.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
will Dwight even want to join a bottom feeding team?
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
well if we can get the number whatever pick...it could be an incentive to play for us.
if we can somehow lure deron to come here…i think it may be a more favorable destination than nets.
so assuming we tanked to get pick. we traded steph for dwight. dwight is now a FA and so is Deron, we try and sign both. Mostly unlikely scenario though.
sucks because i want dwight more, but its looking more as if we cant. but guess what, NJ sucks too lol so iono maybe deron wants to leave and Warriors may be a good destination if Dwight is already here.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
if we trade for DH12 we wont be bad enough for a pick
wed have to win for him to stay and ave money to bring ppl in
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
well lets hope.
because our bigs are seriously being punished by more bigger dudes. dlee being molested is fricking messing with the frontcourt. kwame is lets face it, a good backup.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
depressing
might as well not think about it
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
I agree
People who say tanking is stupid don’t understand that tanking is the only way for teams like the Warriors to acquire better players. We don’t have the trade pieces and we aren’t going to get a difference maker through free agency.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
and besides...we never really truly tanked before.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
Exactly
A 2-6 hole is tough to get out of in a normal season, but especially in a shortened season. This is the best year to suck.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
yup time is short. we'll prolly forget how bad we played lol.
tanking is the safer option if we dont get dwight or any game changers.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
I hate to want our team to tank, but it's the only way they'll get better
Tanking and trading Monta for a 1st rounder (lottery pick) are our best shots.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
our best shot is Dwight
thats an instant franchise player , we’d just have to keep him. i dont think were bad enough when we have monta and curry to get a top pick or good enough to compete so you need to try and clear cap and trade for DH12 and sign someone
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
yup this i agree.
our best shot to get good is with dwight. yes tanking will help, but if we are talking about the gain, i would say dwight.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
have to convince dwight that it'll be easier to make the finals in the western conference
most of the top teams in the west are falling off, while the east has to deal with miami and chicago.
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
Which is why he goes to the Lakers.
:[
WarriorForLife - January 7, 2012
Of course Dwight>tank if you can keep him, but the chances of that are very low.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
I'm just keepin it real lol
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
but they don't want to watch a 19 win season!
they’d rather be stuck in mediocrity forever as long as we never suck
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
The management really seems to be gunning for playoffs though
I don’t get it at all.
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
the only way i can advocate not tanking this season
is if we trade for the half year rental of dwight
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
I am totally against that trade
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
Same
That would set us back even more if he left. No Curry, Udoh, Thompson, 1st rounder, etc. Way too risky.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
if we lost lee and andris in the trade we'd walk away with an upgrade at SF (epxensive but still)
hedo>DW and more cap flexibility
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Not worth it
Curry>cap space that wouldn’t be used because nobody wants to come here.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
i think our window to build around curry may have passed
easiest to build with a bunch of young players on rookie contracts
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
if that ankle is a continual problem id rather get cap and take the chance or deal him for a draft pick if not for DH12
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Haha yeah it's ridiculous
We don’t have the pieces to do a thing in the playoffs. We’d face the Thunder or whoever and get killed.
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
lol if we can get dwight.
with a starting lineup of monta/Rush/hedo/dlee/howard…i think we can give okc a challenge.
all think hedo sucks super bad. but i think he can still give us something even though he is paid like dlee (super much).
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
Question.
Do we even have a draft pick for 2012 to tank for? Could of swore I read it was traded to Utah
Darkness - January 7, 2012
if we finish somewhere near the bottom..i heard its 7th seed protected or something.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
It's top 7 protected
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
I just realized we lost a draft pick for Marcus Williams. You kidding me?
Darkness - January 7, 2012
just realizing this? lol
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
Yea, didn't really follow as closely back in the day and my NBA knowledege was crap.
Darkness - January 7, 2012
here's the kicker then
after we had traded the pick for marcus williams, it would have been lottery protected last year, top 11 protected this year, and top 10 next year. then larry riley decided to offer new jersey a second round pick and lower the protection on the pick so that we could trade our 2010 first rounder (which we ended out not even trading). so for absolutely nothing, we lost a 2nd round AND the protection has been lowered to top 7 this year, top 7 next year, and top 6 the year after that
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
Haha. New here?
Yeah, our first-rounder is top 7 protected this year, top 7 next year, and top 6 the year after that. If it’s not conveyed by then (which is pretty unlikely), it becomes two second rounders.
Most likely, we finish somewhere in the #8-12 range this year and cough up the pick.
Sleepy Freud - January 7, 2012
I don't understand why you would shoot the ball with one second left when you are down....
If they had shot earlier, they would have had a chance for a tip or rebound or what not…
GSW_fan - January 7, 2012
and surprisingly, they did tip it in, just after the buzzer
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
or not surprisingly
cybermaldonado - January 7, 2012
Tank advocates Are morons.
warriorsnut - January 7, 2012
So you think this is a playoff team?
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
doesnt mean that
but were likely not bad enough to get a significant pick for a star when curry and monta play together and it wont attract anyone to this team
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
We have played pretty stiffcompetition thus far.
Our first ten games were pretty tough, miltipliedby fact curry is out. Wait until we are 20 games in before being pro tanking.
warriorsnut - January 7, 2012
Wow.
Stiff competition*. And multiplied *
warriorsnut - January 7, 2012
you act like it affects what the warriors will do
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
well i wont advocate a tank initiative...but guess what, we suck so much we wont make the playoffs unless we get a game changer.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
call me crazy or crazy optimistic,
But I see a nice team in the warriors. No one planned for their best shooter to have a messed up ankle. Everything was fine before Eric Gordon put currys ankles in the issues file.
Xtremelink - January 7, 2012 via mobile
oh god
first post of the night, when Monta and Klay fcked up that fastbreak, I was thinking “I really hope we don’t end up losing by one point….” It happened. :(
jpees - January 7, 2012
Don't worry
That wasn’t the only fastbreak they messed up
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
i only saw the last 2 minutes
jpees - January 7, 2012
haha cursed
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
jackson sux
alright preacher. why is the rookie in for crunch time?
klay needs to ride the pine.
so does lee in the 2nd half
200k - January 7, 2012
yeah don't hold the ball till 2 secs left
especially with us playing at home, at worst, if they had gotten the rebound off a miss, we could’ve fouled them and hoped for them to miss a FT and make it a 3 pt game…
killerk968 - January 7, 2012
if they made both it would have still been 3pt game
ekpeudoh20 - January 7, 2012
Jim Barnett for HC
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
id love him as a coach
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
i still like markj tho
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
why???????
for a good sound-bite
200k - January 7, 2012
i dont even listen to him
whatever he says goes out the other ear. Sounds like a whole lot of BS he is saying. Much like Mike Singletary.
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
hes squeezed any semblance of defense out of the warriors
and were starting to lay down the basics of what good teams do, not just run n gun like its streetball
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
i was thinking the same a year ago
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
JB is awsome
I remember when we were getting our butts kicked in the start of the 3rd and JB said that Jackson should have called a time out and chew his players out.
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
Jim Barnett for HC
yeah probably the best coach we never had.
Skeptic con Urquell - January 7, 2012
So that’s Monta’s choice to wait for the buzzer to shoot
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
MJackson
if it was a better play, ill take the loss but there wasnt any.
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
word
we need to light a fire under half the players’ asses
killerk968 - January 7, 2012
Which half?
GSW_fan - January 7, 2012
DWright and Lee mainly
they both are freaking so bad its disgusting
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
LOL
Mark Jackson just said that Monta’s last shot was a “good look”. SERIOUSLY, PASS THE BALL the last possession and don’t wait until TWO seconds are on the clock before shooting it. That was NOT a good look Jackson and you are just deluding yourself.
Warriors Fanatic - January 7, 2012
Wanted to be the hero
123707THIZZ - January 7, 2012
im sorry, but he shulda passed it to nate. monta had 2 at first...shoulda just passed it up.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
SERIOUSLY, PASS THE BALL
1. its a called iso for him
2. pass to who?
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
What I don't
understand is that if good offense in basketball consists of good ball movement, why does that change in the last possession of a basketball game? At least to me, Isos are not great for getting “open” looks and ultimately will involve taking a jump shot/runner over a defender.
Warriors Fanatic - January 7, 2012
they should at least set a pick.
find a way to get their best defender off of monta.
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
that if good offense in basketball consists of good ball movement, why does that change in the last possession of a basketball game?
it doesn’t we have crappy ball movement all game and game to game and year to year. They just think folks enjoy watching Montay do his thang win or lose.
Skeptic con Urquell - January 7, 2012
Nellie > Jackson as coach
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
Mark Jackson (or Mike Malone) has instilled defense in this team
I’ll give him that much
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
yea but the offense is very…loopy
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
But now they can't score lol
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
Yeah apparently we can't have both
:(
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
we have too many players that are awful at one end of the court
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
Can't conclude that
yet…. with the lockout and the shortened season, along with injuries its too early to tell. But I haven’t really seen alot to prove to me that he’s better than Nellie.
Warriors Fanatic - January 7, 2012
But I haven’t really seen alot to prove to me that he’s better than Nellie.
What? you don’t think 2 career wins is better than hundreds?
Skeptic con Urquell - January 7, 2012
Nellie Ball
Freelance basketball so effective. Natural instincts way better than this garbage half court offense
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
Jackson as head coach, Nellie as assistant coach would be great haha
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
Nellie has an ego though
hes head honcho for life lol kind of reminds me of Kenny Powers
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
i will say nellie is more creative on the offense.
and has a way of winning down the stretch of the 4th. but in the first 3…we would be beat almost consistently. so i would pick a good defense in 3 quarters than a 4th quarter comeback.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
lol so funny, Nellie good at 4th quarters, Jackson set from first half and 2nd half its like the team is a TUrtle turned upside down
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
Dorell Wrong and D-Leegue
Both suck, but at least D-Leegue scores a little to make up for the lack of defense
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
I think Dorell needs his swag beard back, at least Lee grabs boards. HE AND DORELL BOTH PUMP FAKES ALOTTTT
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
the coaches have work to do
Those turnovers are killers. 17!
Xtremelink - January 7, 2012 via mobile
yep
including plays. this was unacceptable. 11 seconds was to much not to get anything. atleast call another timeout if there was any.
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
well its mainly because monta had to do it all himself
and we dont really have any other good passers in the roster. so sadd.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
coaching decisions or ellis decisions? we never know but that was a good, ugly, nasty, disgusting basketball game. haha
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
the offense came out firing at th start of the 4th quarter with monta off the floor
i think the “monta has to do it himself” argument is losing some of its credibility
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
the offense was on the court against their bench...
you still haven’t realized that? I thought I pointed it out once.
Brownie13 - January 7, 2012
doesn't change the fact that ball movement was noticeably better
bigkino217 - January 8, 2012
poor subsititutions
bad time management/poor play calling.
= coaching loss
200k - January 7, 2012
we shot 41%
and even though i generally hate +/- i will say this, all bench players were usuaully high + and starters low low -’s.
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Yeah, plus-minus in a single game sample is fairly meaningless, though. Klay (1-6 fg. 0 reb, 2 tov) led the team with a +13!
Sleepy Freud - January 7, 2012
i think we played BETTER under Smart
Monta THE Boss - January 7, 2012
not really, games were just less ugly
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
That was because we got out and ran, there was lots of scoring
It was more focused on offense, especially guard play.
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
sa ywwwwwwwwwwhaaaatt
we really missed curry. curry would have won the game for us in SA and LA and in this damn game. omg im so sad now.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
all were close games and needed scoring down the stretch and curry coulda woulda done those.
bimmercirem3 - January 7, 2012
give him a month off
please
200k - January 7, 2012
after these straight loses
i miss Curry. inject some steriods on that s$g& and start playing already!

that is just wrong. lol
stepN30 - January 7, 2012 via Android app
yea
give him an eye-patch and a parrot
200k - January 7, 2012
yeah, Curry is the best at fast break play making.
Also think when Curry is on the floor with Monta, Monta is more efficient.
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
we have 4 wins at least with curry
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
Monta really is the iron man of this team
I mean, he’s rarely injured even though he carries the offense
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
dude
dont jinx anything…
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012
technically he has missed more games than steph since steph came into the league
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
Not really
The W’s have lost in the 4th qtr to, in succession: Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Tony Parker, and Kobe.
Monta has show each time that he is not their equal.
GBMarin - January 7, 2012
agreed
even though he wasn’t near his best today, I’m growing to love monta more and more, he’s putting his heart into each game for every min he plays. true warrior
killerk968 - January 7, 2012
yeah, can’t call him a ball hog cause nobody seems to make anything happen.
AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012

AlbinoWhale - January 7, 2012

Doctor Kajita - January 7, 2012

do you guys think we could deal David Lee for a low lottery pick?
like 10-14?
dubzfan - January 7, 2012
no
lol
bigkino217 - January 7, 2012
Maybe a second rounder
doubleteapot - January 7, 2012
Haha no way
duballers23 - January 7, 2012
so not 1 bad team that lacks any good bigs would trade the 14th pick for Lee?

Not sur if serious..
