Blog Buddy: SLC Dunk

The last four games have been tough on the Golden State Warriors and last night's loss to the Los Angeles Lakers was tough to watch due to the turnovers in the second quarter followed by poor rebounding in the third quarter.

As I wrote earlier while trying to sort through my thoughts about this young season, it's sort of hard to know what to make of this team right now - they've got a new coach, no real preseason preparation, and are now battling injuries. That's not an excuse for things like, oh...say... squandering fast break layup attempts, but it makes it hard to evaluate a team seven games in.

And yet they have to move forward with another game tonight that will hopefully make us forget the last few games.

Star-divide

Some predictions:

  • Monta Ellis will continue looking impressive as a distributor and Kwame Brown will continue catching the ball. I think this is a key for this team that the Warriors find some way to high percentage scoring opportunities. Ellis flying at you and capable of making good decisions is a good start. There's been a motion to call this phenomenon of Ellis dribbling and passing to Kwame Brown who catches the ball and puts it through the cylinder "M2K". It is up to you to experiment with this in the game thread.
  • Klay Thompson will continue shooting well. Thompson is 5-for-8 from the 16-23 foot range over the last two games. The Jazz are allowing the second highest shooting percentage in the league (42.1%) from the 16-23 foot range, according to Hoopdata (don't pay any attention to which team is in third - we're talking about the Jazz here). Match made in rookie heaven.
  • Nate Robinson will please the home crowd. And then make them want to throw things. Possibly on consecutive possessions. He might also find it a bit more difficult to score with someone other than Steve Blake in front of him.
  • Enes Kanter unveils his unseen skills that have been reserved for Jazz players in practice to this point.
  • The Warriors will get beat on the offensive boards for the fourth consecutive game tonight. The Warriors are 24th in offensive rebounding differential and the Jazz are a team whose strength is apparently post play and getting to the free throw line. Not a good combination.
  • The third quarter will be the turning point. It wouldn't be surprising at all if the Warriors go into halftime with a lead. It would also not be surprising if the Warriors squandered that lead in the third quarter due to Jazz rebounding.
  • So it's hard to predict the outcome, but playing shorthanded against a team that can put up points in the post is not encouraging. I'm hoping for a win but, if not, a competitive game will do. My gut says Jazz by 6.

Jazz fans still holding a grudge against Mark Jackson

In case you had forgotten about Mark Jackson's forgettable stint in Utah, the folks at SLC Dunk haven't and they linked to a 2003 SI article by Ian Thomsen about tension in the locker room between Jackson and John Stockton:

Three members of the Jazz organization now understand why Jackson has been traded seven times in his 16-year career: They say that over a period of weeks, he succeeded in turning several teammates against Stockton by repeatedly remarking that those players would be better off if Jackson were the Jazz's floor leader. Other players rallied around Stockton, who, because of his quiet nature, was vulnerable to the locker room politicking...Jackson says his actions were in no way aimed at Stockton. "I'm a born leader, and if people take that as manipulation, then maybe they haven't been around leaders," he says. "I make no apologies for embracing people and talking to people and making them feel like they're important. Maybe in the past those stray dogs have been left on the side, but that's not the way I treat people."

That's not a glowing endorsement of a future head coach, but we'll just keep that tucked away in the SI vault from now on.

accurate breakdown

i dont see a way to be able to overcome the Jazz big’s unless the breakdown happens from their side

I was surprised to see Bay Area news outlets praising Kwame's "defense" on Bynum

Bynum and Gasol pounded us on the boards. Kwame did nothing there – yes, he scored more than Bynum, but that’s all he did.

I only saw a little of the game, but it does look like Bynum was held in check. He has been on a tear recently and it seems the Warriors slowed him down a little bit. 9 pts on 3-9 shooting is not very good. His 16 boards were good, but pretty much in line with what he has been pulling down recently. Overall, I’d say Kwame did a pretty good job on him.

Kobe Happened. He just found batteries to his time machine.
I really don't know why Mark Jackson wanted to undermine Stockton

The guy is a Hall of Fame point guard. Mark Jackson was 38 years old when he joined the Jazz – I doubt he was going to do much better

What are you referencing?
Blue quote above.
I'm already having a horrible day, so I think I'm gonna stay away from this game.
What happened?
well if you really wanna know

my girlfriend since 9th grade, im 19 now, has been pissin me off all day

and my uncle has phenomia, its just been a rough day bro
get better man.

we’ll report back if we win. skip this emotional rollercoaster!

I'm already having a horrible day, so I think I'm gonna stay away from this game.

just watch it as a student of the game and not as a fan of a team. Where you live shouldn’t determine your enjoyment of a sport, especially one played by carpet bagging mercenaries working for 1%’ er corporate bosses :>) That should make you feel better.
Seriously , Hope your uncle gets better soon and be thankful you got that girl to piss you off…

For real man.
I'm all for Kwame to continue catching the ball

He needs to start finishing with the ball…

finish with authority. he is actually rolling which is refreshing.

needs more monta dishes to boost confidence.

Monta Ellis will continue looking impressive as a distributor and Kwame Brown will continue catching the ball. I think this is a key for this team that the Warriors find some way to high percentage scoring opportunities.

this is not true
Kwame’s Fg% is .484 this season -i guess it’s pretty not exactly ‘high percentage’
he’s career high on rebounds but his TS is around his rookie sophomore seasons
so D is where he belongs 4 offense here is other C who is better rebounder also

I consider layups high percentage scoring opportunity for a basketball team

But yes, point taken about Kwame. He did play better than he has over the course of his career last night though.

Tank!

That never works for the Warriors. They’ll play like S all season and then go on a winning streak at the end to lose the pick to Utah. Or they’ll finish with the sixth best record and have 2 teams jump ahead of them in the lottery.

I'd wager on us being really bad

Then going on a winning streak at the end. We love doing that.

I think Warriors need a 3 month worth of

long pre-Season games, by the time they get it going. It will be regular season.

looks like we got a shot to be the 2nd worst team in the league.. washington at 0-7 is just rediculously good at being bad
Pick 2

Harrison Barnes

that is a big name. i dont know all who would be available but hey, lets face it, the draft is and has been our "playoffs"

i…… believe..

I'm the resident Tar Heel fan

But I like Davis a tad bit more than Barnes.

pick 2 would have to be whoever is left over between davis and drummond
is there any bigs that are top 5 yet in your opinion?
Davis and Drummond

I’ll take Davis first though

what he said

i like perry jones and sully as well as borderline top 5 picks

here is a potential setback for such a nice draft~

maybe players (college ones) recognize the depth of the draft and hold out in college until the following year?

I doubt they will

2013 is just a step behind 2012 in talent, the crop of HS seniors this year is fairly strong.

darn.. not sure if i can hangle tanking this year AND next.. but i will do it for the greater cause!

championship 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020

Sullinger has to be Top-5.

Everyone else hasn’t gotten it going yet.

Davis
Drummond
Lamb
Barned
Sullinger

Question for him is

how does he project in the NBA? His upside isn’t nearly as high, and he’s not very athletic.

I’m a Buckeye fan, but I don’t think he’ll be anywhere near as good in the NBA as he is in college.

I see a big fat ass though. I say that as a good thing.

He’s got girth like some good big men do. He’s not a slug either. I could see him fall anywhere between Brandon Bass with post moves or Paul Millsap. Sullinger has legit post moves and some counter moves. Plus he has produced (although I haven’t checked him out recently).

I’d say he’s a solid 4 prospect. I don’t think he’ll completely wash out like Ike Diogu who also kinda looks similar. It’s still early I guess, but Sullinger seems like a high floor guy to me. Potential doesn’t come close to the first three guys on my list though. Barnes seems like a very young, and athletic role player to me.

LOL his butt has a Twitter

I think his post moves work because they’re aren’t usually 7 footers out there on the floor. He shoots his hook shots very low and he doesn’t get off the floor quickly because of his weight. I could see him maybe where Elton Brand was, but I think that’s best option. I could also see him as a slightly better Big Baby. I think he needs to lose some of the weight and get stronger, more athletic. He has good touch, but when the PFs and Cs are all bigger than you at the next level, he’s going to need to go around or over them to use that touch, which I don’t think he’s capable of now.

I'd have to look more into him then.

Can he finish with both hands? I thought his hands were pretty good and has pretty good footwork. I’m just most impressed with his array of post moves. If he has a knack for scoring it’ll show in the NBA. Just guessing whether if it WILL show is up for debate.

Those are definitely his strengths.

I don’t think he won’t make it or be an absolute bust. He’ll be able to fill a role for sure. Just not sure if he’ll ever be good enough to be the top post-up option for a championship team/contender.

im getting kinda giddy on the tank train already now... haha
How many more games till Thursday?
gonna be a big game for Klay
wow 67 ppl think klay is the most likely to return to last nights form? wishful thinking?

why wouldn’t he?

givin that he has had only one good game so far and several "crappy" ones, there isnt much to suggest it

I thought he showed some nice progress in the Spurs game and he hit a couple of threes in the Suns game as well. I’m not saying his struggles are over, but he is definitely headed in the right direction.

fully agree.. i believe (and have been advocating patience) he will emerge soon like in say a month or two
I bet Utah HANDS US THIS WIN so they can salivate over our draft pick some more..

Trade Monta for another 1st round pick, shutdown Curry for a month and get a future superstar in the upcoming draft.

Thats what the Spurs did with The Admiral and they won numerous titles.

if we could get a #1 for ellis i would pull the trigger! at least in this years draft as long as its like top 10.

rest curry~ fully agree!!!!!
two #1 picks for this coming draft could be very potent for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes.

One more year of pure suck will potentially net us two amazing young players if our FO makes all the right moves.

unfortunately

the front office is hell bent on being mediocre

do you think anyone would cough up a #1 for ellis? given the draft is always a gamble?
maybe a pick in the 10-15 range?
im guessing you would take that. no?
eh i'd probably need a top 10 pick
depends how well he plays this season

i think his value has increased a bit so far

i almost like the idea of sliding him to the point with jenkins behind him.

and just start klay there for what its worth.. rest curry

i meant klay at the 2 obviously
id rather start rush over klay
is that with a proper tank in mind or no?
unless we're trying to tank of course

then play klay all day

hahah that is what i thought.. ( ;

hell bench beans , at this point i havent seen any renewed energy or mental focus.. START TYLER too!!!!!!! get that boy some game experience

With this 2012 class, a pick in the 8-12 range is worth trading Monta for.

i would maybe do it too (if it were the 11th or 12th i would like to know whos in the draft)
I think he can get us higher, his stock is gradually climbing.

If a team can coax us into giving a 1st for Marcus Williams, then we can get better for Monta.

Oh, Cohan's running another team now?
Donald Sterling traded a 1st Round pick to be rid of Baron Davis last year.

I don’t know who’s gonna have a good night but I hope it’s D-Wright. I can picture Klay rushing shots again and having bad defense. I think Lee might have a big night.

Monta Ellis will continue looking impressive as a distributor and Kwame Brown will continue catching the ball. I think this is a key for this team that the Warriors find some way to high percentage scoring opportunities. Ellis flying at you and capable of making good decisions is a good start.

I don’t get it. I honestly don’t see this “looking impressive as a distributor” thing. I see Monta dominating the ball, and while he’s been doing a better job so far this season of dishing when he doesn’t have a shot, it’s still abundantly clear he’s thinking shoot-first. Everything gets stagnant, Lee is turned into a jump-shooter, and Monta puts up impressive per-game numbers if you don’t look too closely at the details.

It’s a slightly better version of the SJax offense, and not a successful winning strategy.

Monta isn’t really shoot first. He drives to lure defenders then dishes. Slightly better than Sjax? True and good comparison. Lee isn’t as aggressive as when he was a Knick, maybe because he got what he wanted; a big contract and he doesn’t need to step his game up as much.

Lee isn’t as aggressive as when he was a Knick, maybe because he got what he wanted

or maybe he’s just tooth shy?

Monta is totally shoot-first.

If he drove to lure defenses then dished, you wouldn’t consistently see him having by far the most number of shots on the team in games where he was the de facto initiator.

who do you want taking the most shots with curry out?
I want a functioning team offense with ball and player movement.

When Monta is the initiator, I want him initiating the offense first and looking for a shot second.

The team should be, for example, working much harder to get Lee good looks. They should be running pick-and-rolls with Biedrins. These things don’t happen enough when Curry is running the show, but they stop happening almost completely when Monta is.

kinda agree, back when Baron was here Monta barely had iso plays. THat should be how Curry/Ellis back-court be like.

i agree

You want the team to run a different offense fine, but with the current style, I would rather have Monta taking the most shots. Ultimately someone has to take the most shots and get blamed when they lose and get praise when they win.

he is only shoot first when people are stagnant, otherwise he's been looking to pass most of the time

he dominates the ball for 2 reasons, curry is out and hes the best option

Lee has not been going up strong at all , when he does dive hard he gets the ball and even when he doesnt we still try and feed him and it just doesnt work

I disagree

The game where Curry got hurt was a great example. Lee was active and moving and getting a lot of shots.

Then Curry went down, and all of a sudden so did Lee’s shots. It’s not the first time I’ve seen that pattern, either – the more Monta is running the offense, the less active Lee is, the fewer shots he gets.

lee looking tired in the 3rd

every game lee seems to start out good, and then fizzle. mistakes, turnovers and no hustle in the 3rd and 4th quarters. maybe his conditioning isnt up to par.
would like to see udoh/kwame more and bring in tyler to spell kwame.

i also see this

Monta passes the ball well when Curry is on the floor, but then the ball movement pretty much dies when Curry goes out. I guess Monta feels like he has to do all the scoring, but it’s still not good for the team.

Monta has set people up way more then curry has this year
Monta finds Lee

then watches him fail to dunk or finish at the basket. He’s not as good as getting it to Lee in the mid-range, Curry’s better at that, but Lee, in that San Antonio game was PASSING UP those jump shots. He tried to drive a couple times, and passed it back out even more. Like 200k said, he jets slow, tired, even lazy in the 2nd half. I think that was a bigger part of it than Steph going out with an injury.

Lee is turned into a jump-shooter

He’s not very good at much else :/

I expect bigs to be able to finish easy baskets, and he can’t.

Obviously, Monta is score-first. He’s a shooting guard. Obviously playing more and more like a point, but his role on this team is to score. But there’s no one else to run the offense through, so he’s definitely on-ball more than any of us want. Given the circumstances, I think he’s been doing a good job of pretty much everything.

I’m a little disappointed in Lee’s game so far, I was looking for a passing extraordinaire!! working the give and go with Monta and Curry, a little mixture of the Bird man even, well I guess if he don’t pan out we can just amnesty him?

Oh wait a sec, that option wasn’t important said Riley! yeah, in a pigs eye m8ty..

"the amnesty isnt even important!"

Lee has always been a jump-shooter

He’s supposed to be a pick and pop midrange shooter

Look at his distribution of shots his last two years in New York, and compare then to his distribution of shots here.

I don’t have the exact number in front of me, but Lee started taking a much greater percentage of his shots from outside of 8 feet when he came to the Warriors.

It is, in my opinion, the primary reason why his efficiency went down dramatically when he came here. He’s a good mid-range shooter for a big man but he’s an excellent pick-and-roll scorer … and we just don’t use him that way.

The very reason he became overvalued

was because he became able to hit that midrange shot, not for his pick and roll game. If you look at his final year with the Knicks, he became pretty accurate from outside and added a dimension to the offense. He took about the same amount of long jumpers here as he did in his last season with the Knicks. The problem is not that he became a shooter – it is that he was never as good in pick and roll as people thought. He played as a center in New York and often went against slower centers, allowing him to score more efficiently. The power forward spot in the Western Conference is stacked – it’s much harder for him to go inside than it was in the East.

+1

before he became a good shooter he was just a garbage man, it was when he hit jumpers is when he started breaking out and centers cant guard him in the east. Do you think an old Shaq really could stay with his Pnr or Pnp for example / or perkins? In the West players can stay with him

Interesting. Lee does get roof'd a lot in games where he goes up against bigger players (almost nightly).

I was just wondering this the other day. I wondered if the fact that Lee went up against other centers gave him a big advantage offensively. Then when he goes up against smaller but quicker PF’s if his game suffers.

If the second part is true and we just got a PnP (Pick and Pop) big man without any defense and underwhelming rebounding numbers then we’re probably gonna suck for awhile if we don’t try and move him.

I hated the deal when they made it

I thought he was overpaid and overrated.

I agree. He was never needed in the first place.

I think we should all go out of our way to thank Riley for this one. Thank him with fire and pitchforks.

Not that I want to trade Monta, but this is the year to do it if they plan on eventually trading him.

We would lose more games (yes I know this sounds bad, but we need the young talent) and could very well keep our pick, and get some good young talent in a deal that included him.

How about some pregame news

http://blog.sfgate.com/warriors/2012/01/07/gs-warriors-pg-stephen-curry-likely-out-until-at-least-jan-14/
Curry is heading back to Charlotte and will most likely hang there until the Saturday the 14th, when we play @Bobcats.

As long as he's back for that one... :/
Maybe he'll send us DH back...
I hope Steph hangs with Reggie some; they have 3 NCAA scoring titles between the two of them,

both, are walking-wounded, former teammates at GSW, Keith Smart “survivors”, and, 1 and 2 in 3pt efficiency on the team last year!

Keith Smart "survivors"

unfair, players loved Smart . its not like hes avery johnson

lol..."love" for the coach when u are a rookie/soph is a complex emotion, especially if he stymied your growth (Curry, Reggie, etc).
yeah but thats not something that any of smarts guys would say when they see each other

they wouldnt be like wow we survived coach smart lets be real. Players did love that guy

Yeah, maybe they would not say something...Valentine's Day is coming up, maybe they will send him flowers...
nah just a text
lol...."We love you, in spite of yourself, coach"
.

Love it! The young love so easily.....
Lotta sports going on.

Anyone else that is a total sports freak disturbed you gotta flip back n forth to the NFC Wildcard playoffs at exactly 7:37pm? LOL

GO WARRIORS STILL!

Dont trade Curry! Dont trade Monta! so what!

this game

will be the first one of the Warriors 20 game win streak, playoffs here we come

While waiting for the game to start, anyone have any thoughts on L. James boast

that the 2012 US Team is “as good” as the 1992 Dream Team! Mr. LeBozo Vocal James, who has not a single ring on any finger, compares himself with The Team made up of Bird, Magic, Barkley, Malone, Drexler, Erving, Robinson, Stockton, Pippen, Mullen, Laetner, and a fellow named Jordan. Heck, Jordan has six fingers with a ring on each (would have had eight if he had not taken a sabbatical in MLB)! I have not been able to get over Mr. Unaccomplished James’ audacity!

Hey, man. LBJ now has one ring.

He’s getting married. :P

anyone know where game is streaming?

need to watch online – thanks

it concerns me jackson thinks kwame has played better so he plays so much more

even if he does we need trade value

Kwame taught Bynum everything?

REC ALL THE GIFS.

even if this gif kinda sucks lol.

rec all the memes!

there is a kanye w=one unrecd…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Trade Curry's Ankles.
Anyone? Anyone?

Looking for an online site streaming game. Television hijacked by the under ten crowd.

hahahaha

that sucks

cmon dorell! i have faith!
We're going to lose!

who’s with me???

Boo!!!

Shitty fan!!

haha

naw, just reviving my past Warriors cynicism. It’s more fun that way.

If we lose this game, then it's time to tank
depends if we get dh12 or a pair of bionic ankles
I'll take all of the above.
We're not getting Howard

We dream about all these trade scenarios, but we all know they won’t happen. We’re Warriors fans. You’d think we’d learn. We need to obtain our own stars through the draft. TANK!

What the heck is this music playing at the Oracle?
Lee high pick and roll with Monta!

nice

2 monta assists
There you go!

Monta pick and pop with Lee! Long 2! That’s how you play Lee!

Point Dorell for this play
Something about that CWright drible-> quick shot made me think of Jamal Crawford
Whew, when Monta fell, i feared an injury
lee that was such a lazy close out
nice defense effort by Kwame
Geez

How long was he in the paint there?

Jazz is outscoring us, what the heck?
Monta needs to stop the whole

Jumping up and passing it thing

He’s looking to score, and only passes when he has to, trapped in the air

Yeah

and the other problem is that the other team knows what plays he’s got

True dat

I played ball today and so many guys were doing that after ball hogging for hella long and their teams sucked because of no ball movement.

where is andris when you need him

AL is tooquick for kwame

We are turning the ball over a lot

same old Warriors

Raja Bell: waived by Larry Riley.
yeah, but i think i remeber why

because they had to go for the healthy players in that season of injuries

but still we could have kept him then resigned him instead of burning a bridge
i don't think he burned a bridge

from what i read, Raja Bell said he totally understood the Warriors injury situation

he was injured

And he wasn’t going to resign with us anyways

wrist surgery i remember
Did DWright just fool someone else with the pumpfake?

hallelujah

very half court stagnant offense
Sooner or later, I think Mark Jackson needs to go small

spread the floor and get some offense going

Hayward lighting us up?

Yeah, sounds about right

Didn't want Nate to take that quick 3

but i’ll take that

I'll think we'll see a lot of those
arrrrgh
That's who Nate is

just accept it

yeah, that won't mean i'll like it
I feel you

I don’t like it either

and he'll miss

about 4 out of 5

wonder if the warriors are fatigued from the road trip
were too thin on playmakers or go to guys

only monta and curry can make a play . lee is reliant on others to be good

Monta should be taking a break. He is playing about 40 min per game
easiest way to do that

turn this into a blowout

more hops that a swimming pool full of what???
beer
how corny

Matt Steinmetz please

The Jazz are exploiting our aggressive defense

Making quick passes and beating the rotation

oh god we have the girl ref
Violet Palmer!
She is the worst ref ever
I can't believe she's still employed

Every team’s fans hate her too, she doesn’t even have a bias, she’s just bad at her job lol

i wanted favors so bad in that draft
Monta vs Raja starting from the 3 pt line? Raja has no chance
oops, that wasn't Raja

That was Favors

There's our Klay
I think Udoh's clunky mechanics is costing him travelling and moving screen violations
Nate high rebound tap!

nice energy!

Klay Allen no more
This game affirms that Monta still plays best off the ball

instead of on the ball. I love the dishes by Monta when he drives as much as anyone but if there’s anything I’ve noticed it’s that his dishes are very last minute when he is in the air which is fundamentally a bad idea because it leads to more turnovers. People are just noticing that his passes are reaching his target a little better but he still isn’t a point guard. Curry’s passes are more crisp and on target when he drives and dishes and he can get by people like that because people respect his shot, whereas no one respects monta’s shot as much (and shouldn’t because it still is an awful shot).

his pick and roll passes arent in the air

its when he drives baseline and kicks back out and curry cant create for others like monta on pick and rolls. He throws lobs and 3’s out better though

Curry's passes are sketchy as hell.
WOW at that Earl Watson rainbow

klay plays bricks at home…

We should have his dad in arena at all times
He's building a house here

oraklay arena that is..

is it just mee

or udoh needs more lower body strength..

The Warriors should be doing what the Jazz are doing

The Jazz went deep into the bench, they just played a game yesterday.

damn, this result is awesome when you consider how bad we are playing

Is Greg Monroe still beasting?
Pretty beastly
Ugh

…Oh Warriors

It really is time to blow it up

This mediocre play has gone on for way too long

Yep. Monroe has been on fire lately.
Somehow we score

but they score back EASILY

Nate instant offense off the bench
Klay did a good job jumper at the shot without jumping INTO the shooter
Ill take that Nate

but stop jacking 3

That's what everyone tells him
Did you see Nate flying in trying to block that?

I think he DID hit the ball, too

There's a fast break!

nicely done

the new randolph is in
haha
Looked like he was there.
how did klay score again?
Nate passes up his own 3 to find Rush, I like that!
Nate shows up to use the pump fake

and then he shows how to kick to the open 3

It works when Nate does it (and when Curry does it)

because people respect Nate’s shot… Everyone knows monta wants to drive and not really shot the jump shot but hes not big enough to really get to the rim at will… Hence why Curry is better for this team and why Monta is limited. How come Monta hasn’t bulked up very much all his time here?

and we're only down 4!
i hate you thomspson
i KNEW Klay would miss that

right idea to do triple threat, at least

klay shoots to willingly
Seriously, Klay

Sup?

A foul?!?!?!?!?!?
Hit the deck Klay! You're wasting space.
Jeremy Tyler, what on earth are you doing fouling there?
klay was the only one that didnt dive at that
Kwame nice dive to the floor
lol Jackson looked defeated
lee catch the ^%*(^&*^ ball
Stephen A. was right about Kwame..

the guy is a scrub, but he’s a Dub so I’ll root for him. but, my God, he is awful.

good thing it's just for this season
and this season means nothing
D. Lee is too white
+/- fun

the best +/- right now? Klay at +7

bonehead foul on monta
arrrrrrgh

Monta dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb

Monta, why you so MVP
Monta u so good at fouling
this is a bad Warrior team right now...
Oooh, wonder if Monta got away with a push off on Bell

heh

lmao monta just shoved him

WOW Lee, you pass!? Just awful
if we don't win tonight

might as well tank

We'll be able to tank without trying
utah is terrible
sure didn't seem that way when the game started
We're even more terrible
somehow, we're only down 3?
again, Utah is terrible
I'm in mid-season form,

not paying attention to the score and just watching the game

are these his 1st FT's?
If you mean DWright

1/2 vs Knicks

5/5 vs Clippers
wow, i just dont remember those at all
Terrible fast break

miscommunication, wrong pages

why is lee not shooting
Need help where can i get a live stream of the game

thanks in advance!!!

How does Durell only have 2 turnovers!?
he doesn't get the ball?
did lee just fall?

wow.

Nice Klay behind the back to a midrange Lee
lol kwame looks clumsy yet still makes it
Whoa, double screen Kwame and Lee
Kwame NICE rebound tap to Monta
I hate playing for the 8th worst record
aww kwame's lonely
Kwame presence in the paint stopped that Jazz drive into the paint
how did monta miss?
Monta dunk FAIL on a beautiful inbounds play

Keith Smart rolling over in his grave

keith smart is DEAD???
haha

no just a cool phrase i stole from the Chuckster

Makes sense.

ALL of that, makes sense for us.

Monta learned it from Kwame
AAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW

Monta went up for the AWESOME dunk. thatd have been so good, a poster

i can see that being a momentum shifter for him _

Nate is laughing at Monta’s dunk skills.

haha

yeah, and Monta laughing at Nate losing the ball in last night’s fast break for no reason

watch monta not be able to make anything now ....
naw

he’ll be okay!

oooooh, that was CLOSE
nate you got a blue thing in your hair and its bothering me
Well just stck a feather in Nate's hair.
This isn't exactly a "grinding" game

what’s a better word to describe it?

cool runnings
slopfest?
if the pace and quality of this game continues through the 2nd half, bingo
Monta, as well as he played at times,

has at least 3 plays on offense that are just WTH.

Need a little more consistency. Other than the missed dunk, though, he and the team were much better in the 2nd quarter.

If he makes that dunk

we might finish with a 4 point lead, and him on fire going into the half. Now, we’re looking at a 1 point lead with him missing his final two attempts. Hopefully that won’t affect his mindset going into the 2nd half.

3rd qtr

hopefully we could start making shots. weve been cold lately starting the 3rd qtr.

Jenkins, nice rebound
Monta we NEED you to find your stroke

can’t keep missing those wide open looks.

Jenkins strong to the rim

Please be good Jenkins!

Warriors good defense to stop that initial pick and roll
You KNOW that was a foul Milsap,

How do you argue that

I think I like Lee playing further away from the rim like that

start from the perimeter, take the long 2, drive and finish or dish to Kwame

Lee is a lazy F^&%*^ defender

didn’t do anything as Millsap dropped in the jumper.

sometimes david lee passes too much instead of finishing it at the rim…

Monta make your DAMN FTs
Wish we could have Curry as our designated FT Shooter lol
That's weird to see both Lee and Kwame rolling to the hoop on that pick and roll
Great Monta went cold after that end to the 1st half
Yeah, I saw that offensive foul coming
definitely an illegal screen

but Raja is all over Monta. as usual.

Kwame great defense on Al Jefferson

That truly IS a horrible call

Lee can't defend like Kwame

we need new officials…

Kwame stuffing Jefferson
Kwame only deserving to be on the court right now.

lol Jim always pointing out where the ball should go, duh

should the ball ever NOT go between the 2 Warriors?
lol

He even uses the telustrator

Lee, you needed to finish taht!
monta

u kiddin me?

Take David Lee off the damn court

stopped at the rim by Raja Bell

YOU FUCKING SUCK

oh…wow…imma shuttup

Ugly game

I don’t know why I’m even watching.

did we make 4 shots in 4-6 mins?

2 shots :/

in the quarter so far. 4 points :/

thats what i mean everytime we start the 3rd. sigh*

too much 1+1 plays
Both teams shooting .400 from the field

Why even bother

Monta's missed 5 in a row now
Do we have any form of offense at all?
weeeee...

suck

Lee, that was yours to finish too!

What’s wrong with you!

Post up Nate?

LOL

Udoh LUCKY Jefferson missed

Udoh left him alone!

he pump faked with no one on him

imitating Dorell

Devin Harris was counting on the whistle there
Damn, Utah is just as cold. We're lucky it's only a 7 point deficit.
Isn't there a mercy rule for these games?
There you go, Monta to an inside Lee dunk
more of that.

if he can do that, why not EVERYTIME

if i knew that answer, i'd tell you

maybe mark jackson and staff still trying to figure out what does and doesn’t work

im so mad right now.

dont think ive ever disliked the way a warrior was playing this much.

That one ref is dumb

And it’s not even Violet Palmer

Easy to see why Kanter is a good rebounder.
cuz he misses everything and it comes right back to him?
Ha well maybe. Like DMC..

But the one right there he walled Udoh off with one hand while grabbing the rebound. Quite impressive.

hes definitely strong
His offense however so far...

finish that monta

i hate to say this

but thank you Violet Palmer for calling that foul

that could go either way. thanks ref!

omg

udoh after udoh after udoh

what?

Which Warrior did a delay of game? dumb dumb dumb

Udoh, what the heck are you doing?
Udoh sure has been dumb lately
Jazz bench all in now
Jazz all ready to suffocate Monta's plays
Shut up Bob. You and your false hope.
Bob False Hope?
Yes

His hope is based on a fantasy

nice fast break from the zone defense
i was expecting a dunk

lol

it takes a lot for him to get up and dunk lol

its why it took 30 tries in the Dunk contest that one time

That was a great fast break.
monta is dead tired again

not even played that many minutes

come on udoh
man i love monta. he got soooooooo much heart out there willing his team.

so much respect. you can tell they miss curry bad. so much iso plays.

LOL Jim saying Kanter might have faked his birth certificate
Udoh monster rebound

Rush 3 at the other end!

Nate's been passing up 3's to the open man. Surprising
Udoh nice help on the zone defense at the rim!
McG, not a playmaker
passed way too late
Wow it's getting a little exciting

that shouldve been 2+1 fast break

arrrggg mcguired needs to give it up sooner so they can lob it back for a dunk
damn that was a nice block.
kanters got a nice free throw for a big man
oy monta stupid shot son
was telling him to jack it for 2 for 1
Udoh stuffing the alley oop!
LOL yes. good good
Oooooh that pretty on the repay

Udoh looking like Turiaf stopping that dunk

can they turn off the AC

monta too cold right now..

Yay, we can beat their bench
lol shoot. it'd be horribel if we couldn't
LOL I just realized that too

Monta’s playing a lot of minutes again isn’t he :(

29:39 out of 36 min
sounds pretty normal for him
luckily, we get 2 days until the next game, Tue

so I can see why Mark Jackson not quite as hesitant to play Monta big minutes tonight

Why don't we just make him run a treadmill for ten hours
why stop at 10 ;)
not sure ive ever seen monta shoot FTs this well
probably because i dont think he has

13 of 14

and 14 of 16

highest total is 14 (twice, other time 14 of 19)

hopefully breaks that tonight
probably doing wonders for his efficiency
there's a reason why i hit MUTE when it's commercial time

now i remember why

hope he sits for at least 5 minutes
4th qtr

LETS GO!!!

good initial team defense at least
Nate with another triple threat 3!
david lee stands there and does nothing on that rebounding sequence
NATE = REGGIE MILLRE
So it's

Klay>Nate>Reggie, right?

he's more like Jamal Crawford than people give him credit for
i actually think he's more like a smaller, 3pt shooting version of monta
he doesn't really attack the rim much though
the numbers are similar, but they get them differently
he's better at setting up teammates than players like crawford though
well, the old monta

not the better passing version of monta we’ve seen this year

Awww

I wanted Nate to make that 3

I'd like to see Lee jump when his defender takes a shot

Does Lee ever contest a shot with more than 10% effort?

nice ball movement to a corner Rush 3
Rush is on from 3 tonight.
thank you klay

for the assist

Udoh to a corner Rush 3!

why not!!!

Rush again! For 3!
BRANDON MFN RUSH
Udoh very nice

Rush is fire right now

BRUSH DAT DIRT OFF YO SHOULDERS
we best keep udoh in and let kwame go in for lee instead
dorell

that shouldve been me. lol

rush needs to play more minutes a game

he’s earned them

yup.

been playing WAY better than dorell. kinda switched roles eh lol

hes been playing a lot

numbers down last night for some reason

Put Rush in over Dorell Wrong

START Rush over Wrong

That's what I meant
Brandon Allen

doesn’t quite have the right ring to it

Brandon Miller

it’s BRANDON time

Brandon Rush i s a stud!

automatic from 3 all year long

tbh, this is a typical utah game.

very messy defense

Lee nice rebound there
fight for your life for those rebounds
What the f was that, Lee?

Mark Jackson, you need to leave Lee out on the perimeter shooting Js

lee iso...

STOP. PLEASE.

Nate took a shot to the twig and berrys
just about ripe...
nooooooooooooooo
doesnt necessarily mean anything

but anyone else notice our offense seems more fluid with monta on the bench again?

well now theyve gone into iso lee mode
actually didn't notice any change.

just think they’re bench is awful

Nate got a knee to the goods.
good shit nate. playing hard out there!
Nate Robinson the Iron Man!

taking it in the groin like a man

See? Lee from the perimeter = more space to work with
Lee needs to catch-and-go more often

too often he stands around THEN decides to attack the basket

monta back.

NOW

monta and udoh plz
david lee

we need him more on the defensive/rebounding end than the offensive cuz its been a hit or miss for him frequently.

mostly miss

wild out of control tunnel vision misses

We are running Monta ragged

I really wish we would rest him more

Kwame with a strong oreb and easy put back
NICE hard foul by Kwame

love it

lee

box out that &##=

exactly

kwame had him boxed out but he went around to where Lee was

this is why zone is bad
butterfingers
nice hard foul by Nate
How many turnovers has Kwame had inside?
box score says 3
monta hasn't hit FG since the missed dunk :/
called it
yea was real worried myself that would happen
getting to the line is just as good though
not when it's an 0-8
nice play attempt, Monta to Kwame
oh noez

Kwame Stoudemire hurt himself

wow looks like a pinky is dislocated
oh sh=dhdhdhdht
i feel for Kwame

dislocated finger, that looked like it really hurt

Watch Kwame nail these two FTs after the pinky injury

lol it corrects his form

airball freethrow, called it
hopefully he still plays aggressive
dislocated pinky = 2 made FTs

more dislocations please

there we go Monta

finish strong

TAKE OVER MONTA

TAKE OVER!!!

Monta hitting that!

momentum is with us! now close it!

MJ

MONTA JORDAN

keep missing shots, Jazz!
ok no more zone please

they’re going to bomb 3s down our throats and offense rebound misses

They've got to give Monta some 3 pt shooting options when he drives
shudda passed that one monta
lee terrible d again

Why don’t teams just ONLY go at Lee?

because Lee can pass
defensively challenge Lee

i think thats what he means

Millsap pushed "The Pillow" David Lee out of the paint like a chump
Awww Rush missed 3

that’s was a good pass from Lee

stfu fitz

you jinxed us

Lee jesus christ.......... put in udoh
more like defensiveLEEss
D-Leegue showing perfect defense form
perfect D-Leegue defensive form?
It belongs in the D-Leegue
This game shouldn't be this hard.

But PLEASE get this win

Lee slow on defense
just noticed violet palmer is a ref

wow how did monta get 15 fta

texted pics to her
New FT record.

but Bob right for once. We need all of them

monta needs

to make plays for other. jazz obviously knows hes shooting it.

Arrrrgh

bad bad bad timing on that fast break

Our transition offense is SOOOO BAD
I almost cheered for you, Klay!
Kwame has shut down Jefferson down low
klay, why the awkward lob/no lob? just throw him the ball
If we lose, it'll be because we can't finish easy fastbreaks
get back to the basics noobs

ya nba players are a disgrace!

AMNESTY MONTA

I’m not sure anyone ever said that

Arrrgh

Klay had the right idea too, pump fake, drive

pass and crash is the stupidest rule ever!

not intentional!!

Bring back Nellie

to teach this roster how to run

and forget all defense
as assistant Coach
ok klay. i want to wish for the best but come on!
klay you suck
Lee, did NOT box out Millsap after he shot it
nope watching him
David Lee watches as Millsap follows his own shot
how much

did lee pay for his ticket to watch the game?

D-Leegue just likes to see people score
oh my god, that is ugly offensive timing

I didn’t have a problem with Monta kicking it to Klay, but the execution timing sucked

fuck this buulllshit!
and we lose

raja bell great defense

Monta will only pass as a bailout
dammit monta, so dumb there...
Monta WTFfff just shoot that
what happen to DW?
idk

klay shudn’t have been out there

hes too scared to shoot

useless benched

Monta Ellis

sac/indi game winner please

go to the rim.. run a play no iso

and i swear if kwame misses a layup

huh

hayward missed a ft?! anything can happen i suppose lets do this!

ok lets GO MONTA!
Good news

This train wreck of a game will not go to OT

Ok, what play will they run

And it better not be monta top of the key iso

jackson has always been a "put the ball in the hands of your best player and let him go to work" guy when he was announcing
time to find out if jackson is the kind of coach that will wait to beat the buzzer or score quickly when down 1

Monta is going to pass this off and whoever catches it will hit the game winner.

including Raja Bell.

while monta is up in the air

ive been cold shooting. let me pass the ball. oh s&$=$

please dont let klay shoot the last
+1

this aint pre season

surprise

klay off screen?

4 shooters on the court

Would love to see Robinson shoot it

monta to the basket
arrrrrgh

nice try Monta, nope

How incredibly unimaginative of Mark Jackson
i would hope he draw up a play for the rookie

surprise buttsecks utah

that is the exact reason why you go early enough to get a tip in
yea
i never understood holding the ball for a buzzer beater unless it's a tie game
Great playcall Mark Jackson
whatever. monta played great. we just suck bad
except for turnovers
That last Turnover was pretty crucial

Live by Monta, die by monta. Guess which happens more often…

Well, I guess it's time to tank
hate it when they waste 10+ seconds to shoot with only 2 or less seconds left
it's stupid

Did monta think the game was tied??

thats usually a coaching decision
Monta would lose the game for us in that fashion.
hmmmmmmm...

curry by himself > monta by himself … history has shown.

ya but that was years ago

thngs have changed , he was a different player with nellie

more like he was a different player with healthy ankles
LMAO

Curry and Udoh in the background embracing as Monta bricks the shot

The inability to finish fast breaks really killed us

I mean, WTF. It was ugly how we ran the break.

jackson

did you make that play? you know theres 4 other people on this team.

Monta one on one with Raja aint really a good playcall for the last shot....
dumb play, went for the foul..... iono what to say

just a bad play , bad shot, bad end

If we could even finish ONE fastbreak

we win the game

Did have one nice one w/ Monta and Nate

seriously

could’ve done any kind of pick and roll or iso with a kick out when the defenders come in…

We are bad

at Fastbreak.

buuuuuuut

we’re the WARRIORSSSSSSSSS!

maybe that what

happen when you emphasize on defense

you can’t have both world

so... 8-22 shooting, 6 asts, 6 TO, 32 points.

Am I the only one who thinks we’re really missing Curry badly? 32 points is nice, but those 14 missed shots and 6 TO (should have been more to be honest) really hurt. Everyone loves Monta’s drive and dishes but it’s always last minute dishes and no one really expects him to pass when he’s high in the air like that.

i'm happy to see that he is getting to the line though.
Am I the only one who thinks we’re really missing Curry badly?

but it’s always last minute dishes and no one really expects him to pass when he’s high in the air like that.

his pnr passes disagree

They are really missing anyone else who can score along with Monta. And Steph can do that.

8-22 shooting

32 points on 22 fga is fantastic. That’s the way stars score their points. Monta’s scoring efficiency hasn’t been that great this year (or the two before it) but it certainly wasn’t the problem tonight.

completely agreed with this
back to the basics

fundamentals. We lost this game because there were like a hand full of easy plays that went wrong.

Bingo

thanks for the title inspiration

monta shooting

was bad the whole game and we let him shoot the game winning shot? come on jackson

He is our only

consistent scorer

it doesn't bother me so much that monta too the last shot

just that we ran a crappy play. raja bell is a very good defender. we couldn’t set a pick or something?

scorer yes,

shooting perimeter No

coach couldve seen that

if

ellis drove to the basket, we couldve atleast get a foul atleast theres a better chance getting a foul. *sigh

another bad shooting night for ellis
when on the ball he doesnt shoot as well but pases better, its the trade off
i'd still go to ellis for the last shot regardless

he’s in a shooting slump, except his free throwing tonight

It’s not a slump when it’s always

well hes usually around 45% ish and hes lower so it is a slump

but the whole team is in a shooting slump

agreed

we need to put more effort on that side of the floor

The Monta missed dunk also comes back to haunt us

This team apparently cannot make easy shots

I’d prefer a Klay three to that Monta shot

so he can klank out like he did in the pre season game and all night tonight?
klank? pretty sure he didn't hit the rim lol

I stand by this! lol

You mean Klaynk?

I’d prefer someone coming off a high screen with David Lee and then giving Lee the ball to shoot the midrange jumper while his defender helps on the screen

I’d prefer a Klay three to that Monta shot

haha, tanking already

Monta kinda forced this shot, it was close not like it was off the mark

?????

Lol

He forced the shot, but it wasn’t like it was way off. If he made it, ppl wouldn’t have said bad play.

It's still a bad shot/play, but I don't see how it's forced (1 sec left).

nvm about forced, didnt notice clock

Why didn't Monta do the shot he made versus the Kings and Pacers?

Should have just replicated that

getting calls he went for the bump
You can't always expect to be bailed out by a whistle...
don't say that to d.wade or k.bryant
He should know that refs late in the game don't blow the whistle on little bumps with the game on the line.
our fastbreaks

are so bad. like TERRIBLE. we missed so many opportunities. lee’s and kwame’s hands aren’t great either, we keep throwing passes into way too much traffic. lee still did okay this game, not impressed with dwright. we are not good at all…

jackson needs to put some effort into the offense side of things
Anyone notice that the Raptors only scored 62 points in an entire game?
so we tank and get dwight howard???

or is that not possible lol.

might as well tank since it is a shorter season.
will Dwight even want to join a bottom feeding team?
well if we can get the number whatever pick...it could be an incentive to play for us.

if we can somehow lure deron to come here…i think it may be a more favorable destination than nets.

so assuming we tanked to get pick. we traded steph for dwight. dwight is now a FA and so is Deron, we try and sign both. Mostly unlikely scenario though.

sucks because i want dwight more, but its looking more as if we cant. but guess what, NJ sucks too lol so iono maybe deron wants to leave and Warriors may be a good destination if Dwight is already here.

if we trade for DH12 we wont be bad enough for a pick

wed have to win for him to stay and ave money to bring ppl in

well lets hope.

because our bigs are seriously being punished by more bigger dudes. dlee being molested is fricking messing with the frontcourt. kwame is lets face it, a good backup.

depressing

might as well not think about it

I agree

People who say tanking is stupid don’t understand that tanking is the only way for teams like the Warriors to acquire better players. We don’t have the trade pieces and we aren’t going to get a difference maker through free agency.

and besides...we never really truly tanked before.
Exactly

A 2-6 hole is tough to get out of in a normal season, but especially in a shortened season. This is the best year to suck.

yup time is short. we'll prolly forget how bad we played lol.

tanking is the safer option if we dont get dwight or any game changers.

I hate to want our team to tank, but it's the only way they'll get better

Tanking and trading Monta for a 1st rounder (lottery pick) are our best shots.

our best shot is Dwight

thats an instant franchise player , we’d just have to keep him. i dont think were bad enough when we have monta and curry to get a top pick or good enough to compete so you need to try and clear cap and trade for DH12 and sign someone

yup this i agree.

our best shot to get good is with dwight. yes tanking will help, but if we are talking about the gain, i would say dwight.

have to convince dwight that it'll be easier to make the finals in the western conference

most of the top teams in the west are falling off, while the east has to deal with miami and chicago.

Which is why he goes to the Lakers.

:[

Of course Dwight>tank if you can keep him, but the chances of that are very low.
I'm just keepin it real lol
but they don't want to watch a 19 win season!

they’d rather be stuck in mediocrity forever as long as we never suck

The management really seems to be gunning for playoffs though

I don’t get it at all.

the only way i can advocate not tanking this season

is if we trade for the half year rental of dwight

I am totally against that trade
Same

That would set us back even more if he left. No Curry, Udoh, Thompson, 1st rounder, etc. Way too risky.

if we lost lee and andris in the trade we'd walk away with an upgrade at SF (epxensive but still)

hedo>DW and more cap flexibility

Not worth it

Curry>cap space that wouldn’t be used because nobody wants to come here.

i think our window to build around curry may have passed

easiest to build with a bunch of young players on rookie contracts

if that ankle is a continual problem id rather get cap and take the chance or deal him for a draft pick if not for DH12
Haha yeah it's ridiculous

We don’t have the pieces to do a thing in the playoffs. We’d face the Thunder or whoever and get killed.

lol if we can get dwight.

with a starting lineup of monta/Rush/hedo/dlee/howard…i think we can give okc a challenge.

all think hedo sucks super bad. but i think he can still give us something even though he is paid like dlee (super much).

Question.

Do we even have a draft pick for 2012 to tank for? Could of swore I read it was traded to Utah

if we finish somewhere near the bottom..i heard its 7th seed protected or something.
It's top 7 protected
I just realized we lost a draft pick for Marcus Williams. You kidding me?
just realizing this? lol
Yea, didn't really follow as closely back in the day and my NBA knowledege was crap.
here's the kicker then

after we had traded the pick for marcus williams, it would have been lottery protected last year, top 11 protected this year, and top 10 next year. then larry riley decided to offer new jersey a second round pick and lower the protection on the pick so that we could trade our 2010 first rounder (which we ended out not even trading). so for absolutely nothing, we lost a 2nd round AND the protection has been lowered to top 7 this year, top 7 next year, and top 6 the year after that

I just realized we lost a draft pick for Marcus Williams.

Haha. New here?

Yeah, our first-rounder is top 7 protected this year, top 7 next year, and top 6 the year after that. If it’s not conveyed by then (which is pretty unlikely), it becomes two second rounders.

Most likely, we finish somewhere in the #8-12 range this year and cough up the pick.

I don't understand why you would shoot the ball with one second left when you are down....

If they had shot earlier, they would have had a chance for a tip or rebound or what not…

and surprisingly, they did tip it in, just after the buzzer

or not surprisingly

Tank advocates Are morons.
So you think this is a playoff team?
doesnt mean that

but were likely not bad enough to get a significant pick for a star when curry and monta play together and it wont attract anyone to this team

We have played pretty stiffcompetition thus far.

Our first ten games were pretty tough, miltipliedby fact curry is out. Wait until we are 20 games in before being pro tanking.

Wow.

Stiff competition*. And multiplied *

you act like it affects what the warriors will do
well i wont advocate a tank initiative...but guess what, we suck so much we wont make the playoffs unless we get a game changer.
call me crazy or crazy optimistic,

But I see a nice team in the warriors. No one planned for their best shooter to have a messed up ankle. Everything was fine before Eric Gordon put currys ankles in the issues file.

oh god

first post of the night, when Monta and Klay fcked up that fastbreak, I was thinking “I really hope we don’t end up losing by one point….” It happened. :(

Don't worry

That wasn’t the only fastbreak they messed up

i only saw the last 2 minutes
jackson sux

alright preacher. why is the rookie in for crunch time?
klay needs to ride the pine.
so does lee in the 2nd half

yeah don't hold the ball till 2 secs left

especially with us playing at home, at worst, if they had gotten the rebound off a miss, we could’ve fouled them and hoped for them to miss a FT and make it a 3 pt game…

if they made both it would have still been 3pt game
Jim Barnett for HC
id love him as a coach
i still like markj tho
why???????

for a good sound-bite

i dont even listen to him

whatever he says goes out the other ear. Sounds like a whole lot of BS he is saying. Much like Mike Singletary.

hes squeezed any semblance of defense out of the warriors

and were starting to lay down the basics of what good teams do, not just run n gun like its streetball

i was thinking the same a year ago
JB is awsome

I remember when we were getting our butts kicked in the start of the 3rd and JB said that Jackson should have called a time out and chew his players out.

Jim Barnett for HC

yeah probably the best coach we never had.

So that’s Monta’s choice to wait for the buzzer to shoot

MJackson

if it was a better play, ill take the loss but there wasnt any.

word

we need to light a fire under half the players’ asses

Which half?
DWright and Lee mainly

they both are freaking so bad its disgusting

LOL

Mark Jackson just said that Monta’s last shot was a “good look”. SERIOUSLY, PASS THE BALL the last possession and don’t wait until TWO seconds are on the clock before shooting it. That was NOT a good look Jackson and you are just deluding yourself.

Wanted to be the hero

im sorry, but he shulda passed it to nate. monta had 2 at first...shoulda just passed it up.
SERIOUSLY, PASS THE BALL

1. its a called iso for him
2. pass to who?

What I don't

understand is that if good offense in basketball consists of good ball movement, why does that change in the last possession of a basketball game? At least to me, Isos are not great for getting “open” looks and ultimately will involve taking a jump shot/runner over a defender.

they should at least set a pick.

find a way to get their best defender off of monta.

that if good offense in basketball consists of good ball movement, why does that change in the last possession of a basketball game?

it doesn’t we have crappy ball movement all game and game to game and year to year. They just think folks enjoy watching Montay do his thang win or lose.

Nellie > Jackson as coach

Mark Jackson (or Mike Malone) has instilled defense in this team

I’ll give him that much

yea but the offense is very…loopy

But now they can't score lol
Yeah apparently we can't have both

:(

we have too many players that are awful at one end of the court
Can't conclude that

yet…. with the lockout and the shortened season, along with injuries its too early to tell. But I haven’t really seen alot to prove to me that he’s better than Nellie.

But I haven’t really seen alot to prove to me that he’s better than Nellie.

What? you don’t think 2 career wins is better than hundreds?

Nellie Ball

Freelance basketball so effective. Natural instincts way better than this garbage half court offense

Jackson as head coach, Nellie as assistant coach would be great haha

Nellie has an ego though

hes head honcho for life lol kind of reminds me of Kenny Powers

i will say nellie is more creative on the offense.

and has a way of winning down the stretch of the 4th. but in the first 3…we would be beat almost consistently. so i would pick a good defense in 3 quarters than a 4th quarter comeback.

lol so funny, Nellie good at 4th quarters, Jackson set from first half and 2nd half its like the team is a TUrtle turned upside down

Dorell Wrong and D-Leegue

Both suck, but at least D-Leegue scores a little to make up for the lack of defense

I think Dorell needs his swag beard back, at least Lee grabs boards. HE AND DORELL BOTH PUMP FAKES ALOTTTT

the coaches have work to do

Those turnovers are killers. 17!

yep

including plays. this was unacceptable. 11 seconds was to much not to get anything. atleast call another timeout if there was any.

well its mainly because monta had to do it all himself

and we dont really have any other good passers in the roster. so sadd.

coaching decisions or ellis decisions? we never know but that was a good, ugly, nasty, disgusting basketball game. haha

the offense came out firing at th start of the 4th quarter with monta off the floor

i think the “monta has to do it himself” argument is losing some of its credibility

the offense was on the court against their bench...

you still haven’t realized that? I thought I pointed it out once.

doesn't change the fact that ball movement was noticeably better
poor subsititutions

bad time management/poor play calling.
= coaching loss

we shot 41%

and even though i generally hate +/- i will say this, all bench players were usuaully high + and starters low low -’s.

Yeah, plus-minus in a single game sample is fairly meaningless, though. Klay (1-6 fg. 0 reb, 2 tov) led the team with a +13!

i think we played BETTER under Smart
not really, games were just less ugly
That was because we got out and ran, there was lots of scoring

It was more focused on offense, especially guard play.

sa ywwwwwwwwwwhaaaatt

we really missed curry. curry would have won the game for us in SA and LA and in this damn game. omg im so sad now.

all were close games and needed scoring down the stretch and curry coulda woulda done those.
give him a month off

please

after these straight loses

i miss Curry. inject some steriods on that s$g& and start playing already!

wont help

dudes briken down.

wheelchair maybe?

or crutches? lol

peg-leg
he be tap dancing on the court

that is just wrong. lol

yea

give him an eye-patch and a parrot

yeah, Curry is the best at fast break play making.
Also think when Curry is on the floor with Monta, Monta is more efficient.

we have 4 wins at least with curry
Monta really is the iron man of this team

I mean, he’s rarely injured even though he carries the offense

dude

dont jinx anything…

technically he has missed more games than steph since steph came into the league
Not really

The W’s have lost in the 4th qtr to, in succession: Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Tony Parker, and Kobe.
Monta has show each time that he is not their equal.

agreed

even though he wasn’t near his best today, I’m growing to love monta more and more, he’s putting his heart into each game for every min he plays. true warrior

yeah, can’t call him a ball hog cause nobody seems to make anything happen.

Joe Lacob LOVES you
I’m growing to love monta more and more

haha, i’m growing to want to see ball movement more and more and iso less and less.

do you guys think we could deal David Lee for a low lottery pick?

like 10-14?

Maybe a second rounder
Haha no way
so not 1 bad team that lacks any good bigs would trade the 14th pick for Lee?
Not sur if serious..
ive seen teams do dumber
do you guys think we could deal David Lee for a low lottery pick?

amnesty

charlie bell :(
lee has to get better..

right?

lee needs to get in shape

wtf?

he needs to kill somebody then put him on the court.
