they’re not a drive and kick creation offense. even with collison on the floor, they don’t use him as a traditional point guard. they like to feed inside and kick out and run isos from the perimeter. they’re one of the worst assisting teams in the nba

Monta “Choke Artist” Ellis at it again, what a surprise. Can we never put the ball in his hands at the end of a game again? I Don’t care if the ball got kicked 9/10 times he can’t make a play with the clock winding down so sick of seeing it.
he made the game crushing turnover that lost the game….I don’t understand why when steph is rolling and gets the dubs back in it, Monta insists on taking it 3 straight times….why??? Steph was rolling, why not even look for him? Doesn’t matter that he made the 3..it’s the mindset that is troubling.
i know monta can do no wrong considering your sn....
but when you are on fire and your teammate decides to not even look for you and take it to the hole 4 straight times, it is terrible….especially when he ends up turning it over on the most important play of the game.
Steph has never done it with the game on the line. 3 different head coaches have never trusted Steph to do it with the game on the line in Iso. Its not because their scared of Monta.
Sure it is. I dont doubt Steph could get up a shot, I dont doubt he could make the shot in Iso. What I do doubt is that he could penetrate and score in the ways Monta could off the dribble. Monta can create more space for his shot than Steph can because of speed.
and he doesn’t need to create as much space as monta because he has a quick release. also, i’m tired of hearing the “monta can blow by defenders at will” statement. if he could do it at will, why does he never do it at the ends of games?
that curry was making buzzer beaters night in and night out and putting up 28 ppg in college ..the kid can be a lethal scorer and closer if he decides to or is given the opportunity
ive always thought he had a couple HUGE critical plays where he passed and the shooter was successful that people blow out of proportion. not that he doesn’t pass in those situations regularly, but people always seem to think it was some great amount, when from watching games, I’ve always got the impression that he wanted to hit the game winner just as bad as anyone ever has
but even in this case I liked the matchup. a smaller player that monta can shoot over without being off-balance is a good matchup. if it were someone like Paul George then definitely find a different option
clearly it did not work out, but in most cases I don’t see it being difficult for Monta to take a straight dribble at him and pull up for a jumper. George contesting does not force Monta to go off balance.
but in a lot of cases, some sort of better player would be nice. even if it ends in an iso anyway, it would have created some defensive confusion as well as some ball-movement
Monta was the one getting us tied in the first place, while david lee missing everything the whole game and getting torched by david west. We get screwed by the refs and we all blame Monta on losing the game.. Give the dude a break.
if it happened the other way...i would be just upset..
if monta hit 3 straight to and was on fire and got the team back in the game and steph took it 4 straight times (even if he made all 4), I’d still be upset and question the decision….teammates that do not recognize the hot hand are the worst.
but it i don’t think it would happen….steph has shown to be the type of teammate that defers to the hot hand …like all teammates should….you don’t take it 4 straight times no matter the results.
But less expensive than the marquee games. I want to sit lower level on the side lines so I’m looking at probably north of $200 for two tickets plus processing.
Why does every game come down to Monta vs. Steph....
Both played well down the stretch…. it was a freak missed call that lost us the game. I’d prefer a more designed play than a Monta Iso, but whatever, it was an obvious kick.
… Monta hits some amazing shots sometimes…. unfortunately, he misses them way more than he makes them. They look good when they go in, though, so most people believe he’s clutch.
not saying he’s clutch but he keeps us in games and is our best offensive option. we just dont have enough talent on the team and too much is placed on monta.
When Steph and Monta are both healthy and they play within the offense (no Monta gunning deep 2’s early in the shot clock) they actually work great together. Love Monta’s penetration when he’s looking to dish or kick out in times it’s not there for him.
Monta never penetrates for the buzzer beater….it’s always a fade-away 2 off the dribble… I’ll take Steph in that situation any day.

i know monta can do no wrong considering your sn....
but when you are on fire and your teammate decides to not even look for you and take it to the hole 4 straight times, it is terrible….especially when he ends up turning it over on the most important play of the game.

Steph has never done it with the game on the line. 3 different head coaches have never trusted Steph to do it with the game on the line in Iso. Its not because their scared of Monta.

Sure it is. I dont doubt Steph could get up a shot, I dont doubt he could make the shot in Iso. What I do doubt is that he could penetrate and score in the ways Monta could off the dribble. Monta can create more space for his shot than Steph can because of speed.

ive always thought he had a couple HUGE critical plays where he passed and the shooter was successful that people blow out of proportion. not that he doesn’t pass in those situations regularly, but people always seem to think it was some great amount, when from watching games, I’ve always got the impression that he wanted to hit the game winner just as bad as anyone ever has

i liked the monta v hill matchup
clearly it did not work out, but in most cases I don’t see it being difficult for Monta to take a straight dribble at him and pull up for a jumper. George contesting does not force Monta to go off balance.
but in a lot of cases, some sort of better player would be nice. even if it ends in an iso anyway, it would have created some defensive confusion as well as some ball-movement

what did they show you multiple angles? you cant judge it from what 1 angle showed.
the fact that it stayed still tells you the ball was at a balance. therefore it was exactly midway, therefore it is legal to tip it in.

I wish it didn't have to be either or..
When Steph and Monta are both healthy and they play within the offense (no Monta gunning deep 2’s early in the shot clock) they actually work great together. Love Monta’s penetration when he’s looking to dish or kick out in times it’s not there for him.
Monta never penetrates for the buzzer beater….it’s always a fade-away 2 off the dribble… I’ll take Steph in that situation any day.
