2:18 min: Mark Jackson Postgame - 1/14
Mark Jackson
On tonight's game:
"We jumped on them early and then we took our foot off the gas because we thought it was going to be easy. The good news is that we play again tomorrow. Ultimately this is the NBA, and when you think you can just walk into someone's home and beat them, it's not going to happen. We made them comfortable and they picked us apart. It was a disappointing loss across the board."

On the fourth-quarter comeback:
"It wasn't until the group came off the bench, hustled and played Warrior defense, which got us back into the game. They did a great job of fighting back."
Dorell Wright
On tonight's game:
"We shot 41%, and if we don't have it going we need to get stops on the other end, that's what's going to win games. We can't outscore teams anymore, we don't play that type of basketball anymore. We have to get stops on the defensive end and continue to play hard all 48 minutes."

On bouncing back after a loss:
"The best thing about the season this year is that there is a game every other day so it's a great chance for us to get our record back to where we need it to be instead of losing a game like this, a tough one, and waiting three or four days to play again. We have to show up, each and every one of us, and play hard, stop talking about it and doing it. We have the team to go out there and beat anybody, you've seen how we've played against the top teams, but we need to play like that against everybody."
Dominic McGuire
On tonight's game:
"We just didn't come out ready. You give a team like that confidence in getting shots and they just ran with it from there. We came out early and looked like we were ready, but they scored 38 points in the first quarter so obviously we need to do something different."

On the team's mindset:
"I think we took it for granted. We came out thinking this was an automatic win, but this is the NBA so you have to bring it every night. Even if on paper you think it's going be a win, you still have to come out and get the win."

I've never seen a player get hit as much as Monta without getting calls

You can say he sometimes avoids contact all you want but that doesn’t change the fact he still is getting smacked around. He was missing layups he often makes as well and we are burning him out again with these minutes. I’m giving him a mulligan. DW needs to keep shooting, does he not realize without Curry he needs to take more then 6 shots?

Lee had some nice numbers but I didn’t really notice him having a big effect on the game, and even though Beans had 4 fouls there is no way you leave him out as much as we did. You let him play that whole 4th if you are going for the win

Forgot about the game tonight after going batshit insane during and after the Niners win. The play-by-play and box score already look ugly, so I’m not gonna bother downloading and watching this garbage. Did we really give up over 90 points in the first 3 quarters of play? 112 by the end of the game? And to the Bobcats at that? That alone should’ve qualified for an automatic loss. “Improved defense” my ass.

I’ve come to accept the poor shooting. I actually expect it coming into every game this season whenever Monta runs the offense; if he’s not chucking and bricking a ton of shots, chances are everyone else is out of rhythm because pretty much all ball movement goes to the crapper whenever Monta “does Monta.” What pisses me off is the fact that after consistently seeing the same crappy performance, ownership and the front office will still absolutely refuse to commit to a complete rebuild. This team sucks, and they’re in denial about it.

Ownership would call it "hoping" for internal development.

It ain’t comin’ from within.

haha, That’s funny cause I forgot they were playing football today.

Was thinking of you as I watched the game...you do well with footbal prognostication...
Who woulda thought the Niners would score 36.

I would’ve taken the under. Thankfully I didn’t bet.

Yep, the way they did it was captivating; sheer NFL paydirt!

?? Haha, You must have me confused with someone else? Last time I watched any football was when Kurt warner was with the Cards IIRC. The office pool that year looked big enough to make it worth spending the time to win it. As a fan I find it hard to connect with a game that has so many players wearing so much body armor but I was a pretty good wide receiver in my day.

Asoo! Discovered! A hidden former wide receiver in an NBA blog!
Mmmmomma said I was as good a water boy as Bobby Boucher.
It most be your impressive ability to remember things.....
:)

49ers were awesome!!!

I was hard to watch anything after the emotional high of the Niners game.....

….but I did and regretted it.

Oof

Well, that was pretty bad.
Beans picked up hs 3rd foul and it was all downhill from there

Man, I really hope our boys get a win tomorrow, they probably need one so bad right now

Hope ain't going to do it any more, Duby, and Monta is showing his wear and tear of the last 6 games, or, so....

Other tha Lee, underneath, there simply is no one else there!

Wait...there's Greg Monroe and Markieff Morris.....oops.
time to ship everyone out

and i mean EVERYONE…..this franchise if freaking horrible, 33 years of my life now minus we believe and run tmc, 2 years..

sorry excuse for a sports franchise…best place in the world to live and we can’t land a superstar…step up lacob or step out

GO NINERS

Spoken like a true, loyal, GSW fan. You are right on, totally correct, Sir!
The only people worth keeping are the guards

But when they are together they might keep us out of the top 7 sadly. I’d just sit Curry most of the season and there is no reason to burn out Monta like this . Right now we are 4th, knowing our luck that will be 6 or 7 but in this draft that should be fine

Fire Riley, get someone who is willing to dump Lee and Biedrins, problem is is that Lacob thinks like Riley

Got stuff to do

be back in an hour or so

I love the headline and its conclusion, IQ! Spot on!

I think in this thin team, and depleted roster, you can safely put every bad Monta game on the loss column, in the future! There is simply no one else there to pickup the slack!

There is simply no one else there to pickup the slack!

In this shortened season the opportunity is there to make a learning experience out of it. I’d be trying things with Udon and the new kids and playing Klank more to get him as much experience as possible in a situation where we really don’t want to win games due to the strong draft and our #7 protected pick. More time on the court with strict orders to smile and enjoy the game seems like a good investment now that I’ve seen him play a little. A learning season with a young team can be as interesting as a mediocre season with a static team and can payoff better in the long run.

missed the game

what happened?

same script as the last 18 years.
box score looks pretty ugly

monta 6-26? was he taking bad shots or just missing?

some of both

He was forcing it a bit at times, but got no love from the refs when he drove to the basket and was hit…

Got 0 love from the refs

Missed some easy layups afterwards (Monta easy, not just easy easy). No one else but Lee could score and Lee’s were a lot of garbage cleanups and play set up by Monta

He shot bad, but honestly ,it was just a bad night by everyone

A lot of shots were contested with the clock winding down but that’s because dudes were passing to him with less then 5 sec on the clock.

We just have no one to create a shot.
