Video of Kwame Brown's injury via CSN Bay Area.
Just as the Golden State Warriors are expected to get Andris Biedrins back with Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic in town tonight, they've been hit with more injury news: center Kwame Brown is expected to miss at least three months, which could amount to the remainder of the lockout-shortened 2011-12 NBA season.
Oakland Tribune reporter Marcus Thompson II has the details.

Brown will have to undergo surgery after Wednesday's MRI revealed he tore the pectoralis major, the large chest muscle that attaches to his right shoulder...The injury occurred at the 6:22 mark of the fourth quarter against Miami when Brown fouled Heat forward Udonis Haslem. Brown immediately began grimacing and holding his shoulder. He came out of the game and never returned.
Whatever you thought about Brown before this season, he's been a productive center to help anchor the Warriors' defense as he's enjoyed a career-high defensive rebounding rate thus far this season.
As Matt Steinmetz of CSN Bay Area reports, Andris Biedrins should be expected to start in Brown's place for tonight.
Brown’s injury likely means Biedrins will be back in the starting lineup Thursday night against Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic. Biedrins has missed the past three games with a sprained ankle and toe injury, but he practiced on Wednesday.

What’s Chris Hunter up to these days?…
Sleepy Freud - January 12, 2012
Injured and waived.
dubzfan - January 12, 2012
this is awesome actually
Tip a Udoh and Tyler too!
Evanz - January 12, 2012
this is awesome actually?
injuries are never awesome.
get well soon big splash
and come back next year , we hardly got to know ya.
Skeptic con Urquell - January 12, 2012
come back next year?
you want to re-sign him?
Evanz - January 12, 2012
5 years/ 35 mil
Lock it in, Riley!
tafkasam - January 12, 2012
you want to re-sign him?
as a backup he was very good so yeah i’d give him another year.
Skeptic con Urquell - January 12, 2012
not for 7 million
but he looked much better than any actual center weve had in 3 years
Brownie13 - January 12, 2012
"Tip a Udoh and Tyler too!"
dude, how OLD are you, actually??!?!?!?
Made me spit out my coffee….
WillyWhiteShoes - January 12, 2012
I was just a teenager back then, but oh, do I remember it well. 1840 was a great year for the Warriors.
Evanz - January 12, 2012
"Tip a Udoh and Tyler too!"
haha, slipped right by me , guess I’m getting Aldtimer’z disease?
Skeptic con Urquell - January 12, 2012
Haha I remember learning about that in APUSH!
GSWarrior1818 - January 12, 2012
Adonal Foyle is calling Magic games on the radio
So he’s available for depth.
KD1 - January 12, 2012
to Warriors fans...
Did you really expect this to all end well?
Evanz - January 12, 2012
No, but Kwame’s a pretty sturdy-looking fellow. I didn’t expect him to be out for the season for what looked like a fairly routine arm-tangling incident. It’s like BrokenWing Part II.
Meanwhile, the original BrokenWing is putting up 23.2 pts/36 on .812 ts for the Mavs (SSS alert…)
Sleepy Freud - January 12, 2012
to me, this is great
this team is now more likely to keep it’s pick
Evanz - January 12, 2012
more likely to keep the pick because we lost KWAME BROWN?
More like if we lose Curry
Jake408 - January 12, 2012
what you mean IF we lose Curry?
He is lost and waiting to be found!
Critical Roach - January 12, 2012
I'm just sayin
Kwame Brown being out won’t really hurt the dubs
Jake408 - January 12, 2012
Well the Warriors just lost big man depth
so it actually means something that he’s out
lameallenmark - January 12, 2012
It means that
We gonna struggle going against team with bigger frontline. We might not miss Kwame on offensive side. But the defensive side it would different.
mykelala01 - January 12, 2012
He was a huge player that was a great post defender
We don’t have another guy like him, we will definitely miss his defense and rebounding. He is a huge reason why our defense and rebounding has improved
dubzfan - January 12, 2012
THIS!
Brown, as awful as he was on O, his BIGness on D will be missed. He may have bricked his FT’s, but at least he had the balls to get up there and shoot them unlike our other center.
Critical Roach - January 12, 2012
His O was acceptable
Especially considering his past
dubzfan - January 12, 2012
Getting other big men in foul trouble is always a plus
Critical Roach - January 12, 2012
Meanwhile, the original BrokenWing is putting up 23.2 pts/36 on .812 ts for the Mavs
what’s that in real terms? Is he playin 10 minutes or 40 minutes per game?
Skeptic con Urquell - January 12, 2012
Haha, 7.8, actually. 31 minutes total.
As long as we’re dealing with minuscule sample sizes, did you catch this eye-popping three-second highlight from the other day? Man, you can’t teach hops and reach!
Sleepy Freud - January 12, 2012
you can’t teach hops and reach!
looks sorta like that old plastic man comic character.(or maybe it was rubber man, just remember he had long stretchy arms )
Was wight’s left wing the bad one?
Skeptic con Urquell - January 12, 2012
It did end well
We can sign Kwame for cheap next year and we get to see more of Udoh and maybe Tyler??
Oh and what about Fesinko??
Jake408 - January 12, 2012
we didnt end up signing Fesenko. Signed Robinson instead because that time time, it was apparent we needed more guard depth.
dannyschmanny - January 12, 2012
time to go shopping
in the d-league, perhaps? yeah but what is fesenko up to?
BeePill - January 12, 2012
Sucks for us really
Jackson seemed to be just starting to get his rotation together, and Kwame proved himself a capable defender especially against the larger Centers to many fans surprise. Bedrins can’t seem to put more than a few games together before he gets injured these days. Big break for Udoh, and hopefully we get to see more of Tyler – he had some awesome moments in preseason I thought. Hell – Jackson (er Lacob) seems more than happy to let Klay Thompson struggle as a rookie, may as well extend the same opportunity to Tyler. Keep praying for Dwight fellas …
stillbelieve - January 12, 2012
I think Bedrins was just benched because Brown was playing so good.
The second Brown goes down Bedrins is healthy again?
Please!
Critical Roach - January 12, 2012
You now what this means, right?
KHAZZOUH!!!!!!!
lameallenmark - January 12, 2012
Jeremy Tyler
Should be getting playing time.
GSWarriors30 - January 12, 2012
So sad
He was the toughness we needed and worked so hard and had his b est year of his career, he really fit in well here. I’m going to miss him cause now we likely wont resign him which I think is still a good idea. He looked like a starting center lately and his offense has come a long long way.
dubzfan - January 12, 2012
Rec
mykelala01 - January 12, 2012
Where Fesenko at?
Time to give the dude a call back
JustSomeName - January 12, 2012
He's hurt
And Dallas didn’t even sign him
dubzfan - January 12, 2012
Well I hope Beans will be healthy for the rest of the season
mykelala01 - January 12, 2012
time for Beans to step up..
Kwame was even making clutch free throws, Beans has to atleast match his play
gumy - January 12, 2012
Haha
Kwame making clutch freethrow
mykelala01 - January 12, 2012
I’ll take atleast 1 from beans
gumy - January 12, 2012
Greg Oserstag time!
Oh yeah!
dubzfan - January 12, 2012
What about Shawn Bradley?
KD1 - January 12, 2012
Nice, put away that $7M and laugh, Kwame!
Billy Frijoles - January 12, 2012
except for the pain from surgery
HUNGRY HUNTER - January 12, 2012
This is punishment for the Warriors having a lot of big men on their team.
It’s the cardinal sin for the Warriors.
true torture - January 12, 2012
This is a positive for getting Dwight
Now he sees he has no competition for starting center on Dubs!
tafkasam - January 12, 2012
lol...yeah, so much competition...ouch! This is one injury that really hurts!
We are really hurting more, inside (again!). Well, back to Lee, Udoh…oh, I nearly forgot, and Tyler! Ready for the playoff run this year after the FO’s geat moves to strengthen our inside game…
dinohealth - January 12, 2012
Tebow Time?….Nah, Tyler Time!
DubsFan408 - January 12, 2012
We are definitely ready for the Golden State Miracle!
dinohealth - January 12, 2012
I'm already tired of our new center rotation
And we haven’t even played a game without Brown.
The thought of Lee playing tons of center is depressing. I got a feeling Tyler won’t get much roll since we are going to the playoffs as the 9th seed.
Critical Roach - January 12, 2012
Skinny thin!
We are thin at C now and are in need of a back up and potential starter because of Bean’s fragile status. I would like to think that Tyler is a good option, but think about our starting line up when Bean gets injured again… Udoh/Lee at C with Tyler backing up…Maybe we can make a trade for someone and give up a second round pick!
DoomandGloom - January 12, 2012
Yep Brown had Beef
I Want To See SomeTyler.
Critical Roach - January 12, 2012
Optimistic
So does it means he will be back, on time for the playoffs.
mykelala01 - January 12, 2012
Are we rushing Biedrins back?
It seems awfully convenient that Biedrins can suddenly start now that Kwame is out
doubleteapot - January 12, 2012
small ball is back...great
hated the idea of Fesenko when it was first mentioned, but if he’s getting any healthier, he appeals much more to me than:
Hilton Armstrong
Earl Barron
DJ Mbenga
and Dwayne Jones
I’d much rather Fesenko get 15 minutes a game for us than any of them.
Brownie13 - January 12, 2012
This could be a blessing in disguise..
Either Tyler and Chris Wright step up and give us something we can use on d and in the post or..( Everytime Wright’s played he’s scored, he has crazy hops and with nate’s alley oop abilities a highlight reel machine, Tyler could be that too(..maybe i dunno)
We waive Wright maybe Ish(i dont want to), kick Tyler and maybe Klay down to the d-league,
go low key and bring back Khazzou and Ubiles(averaging 22pts a game) or get Fesenko and Hilton Armstrong or maybe even Ike Diogu(who doesn’t like Ike?) Armstrong’s post game is solid and he has a nice jumper(he’s only 6’9, Fesenko could be good as well and his history with the jazz means he has defense in his dna, Ike is an agressive post player with a decent jumper but he’s 6’8
Garrett Flippin - January 12, 2012
Tommy smith isn't out of the running either
He’s thin as rail but he’s a big hark working dude, one of the fastest guys in the warriors training camp, hes on the Dakota Wizards so Lacob and Co like him, i wouldn’t count him out
Garrett Flippin - January 12, 2012
never thought i'd be sad the kwame brown was hurt
