SpearsNBAYahoo GState GM Riley says in statement @StephenCurry30 has no structural damage to sprained RT ankle & can play when he passes functionality test 1/10/12 4:53 PM
I guess we have to hope Brian McCormick is wrong. Otherwise, it's curtains on our franchise. (Sorry, but that's how I feel right now.)

Another non contact ankle injury would turn him into Oden for me
Its the fact that Curry is injuring the same ankle over and over again without any real hard contact or anything that should cause an ankle . He’s got a weak ankle due to how he moves which will likely never change. It will likely always be a major risk with Curry and at some point it won’t be one of these little sprains but something that will just shut him down for a long time. Ankles are very susceptible to re injury especially when its already weak and every time he hurts it it will get weaker and the sprains will in turn likely get worse
WTF Is going on Warriors you need a solid freaking plan in place once and for all I think we all are tired of this shyt
From the fans to FO ,ownership , medical staff, so with said can they finally find a way to Put a plan in Place with doctors and strength trainers even Brian mccormick every freaking person you can find and come to agreement on what a plan should be no more talk time for action
why you hope BM is wrong (i.e. Curry does have structural damage and presumably out indefinitely). Is it that you hope, since we aren’t going to far places with him and this roster, that we tank and get a top draft pick?
Cause I thought this was good news, including the fact that a healthy Curry is a trading chip, while an injured one is not.
He's referring to Brian McCormick from the discussion posted the other day....
…. where it was discussed that the problem lies not in his ankle specifically, but in the mechanics of how he moves; which put him at risk of repeated injury regardless of how much rest or pain he feels in the ankle. If BM is right, then sending Curry out there every time his ankle “feels ok” without further physical therapy, the injury is likely to continue to be chronic.
I don’t know ow much the team was involved, but there were already reports that they analyzed his stride and foot planting during his trip to the Nike facility. I’m not sure how extensive the testing was, or if they came to any conclusions beyond trying to find a better shoe for him. I’d imagine that if they analyzed it from a footwear perspective they might not have been looking at how to change his gait, but just how to best equip him for his current movement patterns.
…but sure wish we’d traded him for CP3 when we had the chance.
Steph’s trade value is ZERO until he plays a full season without any major ankle sprain – and frankly, does ANY player play a season without spraining their ankle at least once?!?!
I think the W’s SERIOUSLY need to look into those Sprain-less Shoes…
“Just finished a successful surgery on my ankle, thank you Lord for having it not a serious injury
I will be back on the court soon thanks for everyone supporting me”
If he says he will be back soon he'll be back soon
Curry sounds really adamant about getting back asap so i’d give him a week or 2 before he’s back. I’m excited how Nate/with steph and monta will work, you could “hypothetically” play nate at the point and have steph and monta rotate in and out. te could run the offense while either plays off the ball or vice versa. I think it will happen as nate needs to have a good year and steph and monta could both be used strategically while. Other teams( NJ, Sac,Indiana, Min,Was,NO) run small court lineups, even the hornets often play 3 guards at a time
hope by functionality test it is proper footwork and technique when moving laterally.
because it seems that the injury hasn’t broken or tore anything where extensive surgery is needed. it is simply a sprain ankle caused upon on top of another sprained ankle…which really f’ing hurts.
good news would be that he fixes or tweaks his planting of the foot and movement laterally. meaning he can still play and also fix his movement at the same time…just like working out after a game or before a game.
Another non contact ankle injury would turn him into Oden for me
I’d pretend like he wasn’t even here
dubzfan - January 10, 2012
woah, thats a bit heavy
its not like he’s missed the past three seasons
j-spliff415 - January 10, 2012
Werd. Over the past 2+ seasons, serious knee injuries have caused Oden to miss 151 games. Curry has missed 13 over the same span.
(Can we assume you’ve also written off Monta, dubzfan? He’s missed 20).
Sleepy Freud - January 10, 2012
But not to chronic injuries

dubzfan - January 10, 2012
Sure. The point is that the Oden comparison is hyperbolic and foolish.
Sleepy Freud - January 10, 2012
Steph cant be the only player to start their career spraning and rolling their ankle.
Who else has? And how did their career go on?
TooShort2Play - January 10, 2012
Yeah but its how he's done
Its alarming
dubzfan - January 10, 2012
I dont disagree with that but im saying we shouldnt all be speculating,
we should be looking to see other players who delt with the same issues and see how their career went.. and then speculate

warriorsablaze - January 10, 2012
+Totally correct!
dinohealth - January 10, 2012
Agreed
Curry definitely needs to work on his mechanics before he heads back onto the floor.
spinn001 - January 10, 2012
Because if Brian McCormick is right,
then the real problem hasn’t been fixed, and Curry will likely sustain ANOTHER ankle sprain on his own.
IQofaWarrior - January 10, 2012
Also, totally correct!
He has to do strenth work and work on his mechanics (foot strike and stride).
dinohealth - January 10, 2012
How and why would they even think about putting Curry back on the floor without looking at his stride?
Tremendous Hops - January 10, 2012
Well...

Nike's conclusion:
“It’s definitely not the shoes.”
Lacob's Ladder - January 10, 2012
Did you even read the article?
That is not what BM said
doubleteapot - January 10, 2012
Well, Steph Curry should not pass a functionality test for at least a month!
And, be doing nothing but ankle and foot strengthening work in the meantime…This season is down the tubes anyway!
dinohealth - January 10, 2012
down the tubes
sorry for my extremely poor “photo shop” skills

Duby Dub Dubs - January 10, 2012

joegiant - January 10, 2012
I would've taken Rondo...
in a 3-way trade w/NO and Boston, but at that time, it might have meant taking JGreen, which didn’t end to well for this season.
Anyways, time to focus on Dwight or Bynum instead.
spinn001 - January 10, 2012
neither will happen
j-spliff415 - January 10, 2012
I know
but best not to keep reliving the past.
spinn001 - January 10, 2012
Steph just said on Facebook that he had ankle surgery.
Anonymous1337 - January 10, 2012
what? i dont see this.
not funny.
LostHawkGSW - January 10, 2012
No he really did said it on FB
“Just finished a successful surgery on my ankle, thank you Lord for having it not a serious injury

Duby Dub Dubs - January 10, 2012
it's obviously old news
Evanz - January 10, 2012
Are you sure?
The post is from 48 minutes ago… is that his real page? Seems strange that he wouldn’t say anything on Twitter where he’s been much more active.
olympicmike - January 10, 2012
I think by “just” he must have meant “just this summer.” Or he didn’t write it at all. It’s pretty clear he didn’t just have surgery.
Sleepy Freud - January 10, 2012
also, the fact that no mention was made of this during the official announcement
makes me doubt that FB page is legit
Duby Dub Dubs - January 10, 2012
I was going to write something, but...
yeah, what Sleepy said.
Evanz - January 10, 2012
I guess...
Awkward wording is the most likely explanation.
olympicmike - January 10, 2012
I thought Curry was 'well spoken'?
……..
:)
tafkasam - January 10, 2012
I don't think he even wrote it
it’s just a messed up FB page with messed up updates
Evanz - January 10, 2012
pretty sure
https://www.facebook.com/StephenCurryOfficial
this is his real facebook page… can assume all others are bogus
asanddubs - January 10, 2012
has to be old
he posts on twitter 100x more…
LostHawkGSW - January 10, 2012
so.... did he have surgery?
j-spliff415 - January 10, 2012
yeah, months ago
Evanz - January 10, 2012
im aware of that one i meant today
j-spliff415 - January 10, 2012
there really no info out there on his ankle beside his FB page...
i hope it just a very very minor surgery if he did had one.
GoDubs! - January 10, 2012
so curry had surgery huh
stayedupto - January 10, 2012
Yep. Last Summer.
Sleepy Freud - January 10, 2012

Now hopefully..
after this week we can start to get back on a roll. This 2-6 record is not sitting with me too well. So many games we could have won..btw I’m new :)

I’m having too much fun watching Nate Rob
