Yesterday's game was quite a surprise. 7 guys vs one of the best teams in the league. To have been down by 1 with under 2 minutes after scratching back from down 15 is a pleasant surprise. They were really working hard out there. It looks like they're going to have to be a scrappy team to get some wins. They're going to have to work harder than the other team on the boards and on defense. They're going to have to run the offense smoothly by moving the ball around to get open shots. They simply cannot win by going 1 on 1 and relying on any one person to win. This is no different now than it was with Jax on the team, but after one game, it looks like the offense is less 1 on 1, more ball movement.
I don't expect this game to be close. The Celtics should be able to overpower the Warriors. Back to back on the road facing 2 of the best teams in the league? It's a tough thing for any team to be able to play well in both contests. Throw in the 3 days of rest for the Celtics, all the injuries on the Warriors, playing only 7 guys again and the Warriors will find themselves in a difficult situation. If the game is close in the 4th quarter, that will be quite an achievement. The game will show what these guys are made of and what kind of condition they're in.
Regardless of what I think might happen, I'm still looking forward to this game because:
Monta and Curry did such a great job distributing the ball yesterday. It was nice to watch our two top guards go out there and find the open man and also create shots for teammates.
See if Corey Maggette can keep up what he did yesterday. 11 boards and 3 assists? Really? Wow. Will he continue to grab boards and look to set people up?
Anthony Randolph had a poor first 3 quarters in Cleveland. His 4th quarter was encouraging to see. Apparently Raja Bell told him a few things prior to the 4th. AR was very active on the glass and trying to make things happen on offense in the paint.
Big 3 + Rasheed + Rondo. It's the first chance I'll get to see how the new and improved Celtics look.

I think some people passed on the opportunity to be the STH of the Game since we were playing the Celtics, but I figured if we won, it would be that much sweeter and low and behold we won! Unfortunately, Jax was the Player of the Game so I got an autographed ball and a picture w/ him after the game. It was a great experience, but too bad now everytime I look at the picture I’m sick to my stomach! What a shame!
Including yesterday’s Cavs game, we’re in the 2nd game of a 9/10 stretch of tough teams, that last team in that list is the Pacers. It makes me sad (or annoyed) to think what our record could have been had we played team ball since Game 1.

just because they're meeting with his agent doesn't mean he's trying to get traded. His agent is in the bay area anyways for Andre Ward. Just because the media says that hes looking to be traded doesnt mean its true, and ellis denied it himself.

I don’t think the Nelson confrontation or the jackson trade are as big of a deal to him as many people think. Come on you can’t believe everything you here in the media. So many rumors are made up in the NBA to keep us fans entertained and talking. And a lot of “sources” are bs. Rumors are usually only rumors. I could be wrong, but I don’t think the Warriors are trying to trade Ellis, and I don’t think he wants to leave. They traded Richardson and let Davis walk because they preferred Ellis, and wanted to make him the go to guy.
Go ahead and believe it. You might be right, but there have been a whole lot of trade rumors coming out of the Warriors organization over the past few years and very few actually happen.
This guy does not get enough credit. He is a very good defender and rebounder and a very smart player. I think this year he deserves 1st team all defense. He is such a good complement for this team and him and Rondo are a major part of the reason they play such good defense.
That came off a little rewd. I was mulling it over in my head and just came up with “no.”
I could be wrong though. He might have a strong enough personality, but he’s a FA, who is going to have surgery and sit, so his influence will be kind of limited to pep talks.
He is older and seems to take to leadership, so maybe I’m wrong. I just don’t think circumstances permit for Raja bell to really assume the role of team leader, even if he does take on a leadership role.
But he got here, he’s peobably gonna have surgery, then he’s a FA.
So, whatever maturity, experience, and professionalism he can bring is definitely welcome. And he did pull AR aside his first day on the team, so maybe…
he was good for the team that consisted of the players we had when he got here, but now he was just the odd man out. and he didn’t grow old gracefully, so to speak.
The wide receivers are to blame along with Russell, but we have Schilens back and he’s our top receiver. We also need to look for Miller a lot more in the passing game.
Technically, with Schilens back, we’re just starting one rookie wide receiver. Heyward-Bey started last week despite Murphy having been more productive than him.
If he worked hard, he might be able to correct them, but he hasn’t shown anything except the ability to run fast. I’d love for him to prove me wrong, but I suspect he won’t.
If the Warriors eliminate the turnovers, they can outscore the Celtics—assuming Boston continues to play soft, lazy defense. If the game is close, the Celts will probably turn up the heat defensively. Then we’ll be in trouble.
The officials are calling a bad game. They got the script that the Celtics are clearly supposed to win this game against a shorthanded GS team.
Maggs is playing great. His scoring is helping the team.
AR needs to step up his bball IQ. He is taking way too many outside shots. He is not yet showing the growth I hoped for after his rookie year—still looks like a rookie.
It’s too bad Raja’s wrist is hurt. He could help us this year.
Curry has flashes of brilliance followed by ineptitude. That, I can live with because he actually IS a rookie.
I have never understood why team even guard rondo outside the paint. He is a pathetic shooter. The only shot he can make is a dam layup. WHY GUARD HIM ON THE PERIMETER IF HE CANNOT SHOOT!!!
Again we see why the Warriors continue to struggle
The Warriors have the talent to play against any team on any given night, the problem is that the Warriors do not have a coach that will put that talent in the best scenario.
Look at Boston Rajon Rondo is a terrible terrible shooter, but how does he effect the game by driving to the basket? Don’t we have a guy named Monta Ellis who does that? Yet, Rondo does it nearly every possession the Celtics have, Ellis does not.
Other things like not able to catch the ball, missing wide open layups, missing free throws, not moving their feet defensively, not passing the ball to the right man, and most of all careless passes.
How many times this year have you seen Ellis and Curry try to get the ball into Maggette who’s out by the three point line with a defender draped all over him?
i wouldn’t say no hustle. low at times, but we were in the game last night because of hustle and we were in it much of tonight, up until the 3rd because of it.
the real ? is why would the Warriors trade for a PG who is about to be 34 this season when they’ve already got a rookie there that they are trying to develop.
Warriors were down by like 1 point. He got pulled after ellis and he missed on the pass during the fast break. Then the Celtics went up by 12 or so really fast. Also, Curry had like 4 TO in the first quarter, so no he didn’t cause: " a lot of the TO in the third quarter" He wasn’t even playing.
Like I said much much earlier in the open thread… This was the first real defense he’s played against. Think off all the other teams we’ve played so far… Even the Cavs defense was nowhere near the Celtics.
Not here to bash or anything, just wanted to say that you guys had great effort in the first half. Lots and lots of offensive rebounding going on and that kept you coming.
Impressive, and it’s always good to see Bell, to be honest.

I must admit though, we’re very, very spoiled fans. We play beneath 17 banners, have hung one up there just a year and a half ago, and are ‘blessed’ with enormous amounts of both talent and experience. However, that makes you expect more than what we’ve seen tonight.
So yes, call us pessimistic, and with all due respect for your squad, but we’re not too satisfied with tonight’s W.

Warriors are without bigs playing against a team with amazing bigs. We’re on a back to back, dealing with crazy drama off the court and we have a coach who is mailing it in. Plus, our young guys are still learning how to play and we have new teammates we need to adjust to. we were lucky to not lose by 30/
I saw effort, hustle when we were still in the game and good body language throughout. I saw guys miss easy shots that they will make in the future, I saw guys playing defense that are not known for it- I give these guys credit for not mailing it in based on all the drama going on.

I don’t think the Nelson confrontation or the jackson trade are as big of a deal to him as many people think. Come on you can’t believe everything you here in the media. So many rumors are made up in the NBA to keep us fans entertained and talking. And a lot of “sources” are bs. Rumors are usually only rumors. I could be wrong, but I don’t think the Warriors are trying to trade Ellis, and I don’t think he wants to leave. They traded Richardson and let Davis walk because they preferred Ellis, and wanted to make him the go to guy.

This guy does not get enough credit. He is a very good defender and rebounder and a very smart player. I think this year he deserves 1st team all defense. He is such a good complement for this team and him and Rondo are a major part of the reason they play such good defense.

That came off a little rewd. I was mulling it over in my head and just came up with “no.”
I could be wrong though. He might have a strong enough personality, but he’s a FA, who is going to have surgery and sit, so his influence will be kind of limited to pep talks.
He is older and seems to take to leadership, so maybe I’m wrong. I just don’t think circumstances permit for Raja bell to really assume the role of team leader, even if he does take on a leadership role.

Again we see why the Warriors continue to struggle
The Warriors have the talent to play against any team on any given night, the problem is that the Warriors do not have a coach that will put that talent in the best scenario.
Look at Boston Rajon Rondo is a terrible terrible shooter, but how does he effect the game by driving to the basket? Don’t we have a guy named Monta Ellis who does that? Yet, Rondo does it nearly every possession the Celtics have, Ellis does not.
Other things like not able to catch the ball, missing wide open layups, missing free throws, not moving their feet defensively, not passing the ball to the right man, and most of all careless passes.
How many times this year have you seen Ellis and Curry try to get the ball into Maggette who’s out by the three point line with a defender draped all over him?

WOW - lots of hating here tonight (did people really expect a win?)
Warriors are without bigs playing against a team with amazing bigs. We’re on a back to back, dealing with crazy drama off the court and we have a coach who is mailing it in. Plus, our young guys are still learning how to play and we have new teammates we need to adjust to. we were lucky to not lose by 30/
I saw effort, hustle when we were still in the game and good body language throughout. I saw guys miss easy shots that they will make in the future, I saw guys playing defense that are not known for it- I give these guys credit for not mailing it in based on all the drama going on.
